I have a problem with animals moving in because they always move in where my paths are even thought there are blank patches of grass big enough for them to move in...its really annoying meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.<

Yeah it's really irritating how they put that into the game it destroys time and work -_- and that feel of accomplishment.

I have an entire empty area where none of them ever move into, I specifically didn't even put any paths and just left it looking ugly so like 1 or 2 of them could move there but still they don't..

NONE of my animals have moved out yet, so just be patient until you get all your villagers. Then, only kick a few animals out if they want to move. You don't want an animal in front of your house *_*

"Oh, so you have a garden with lots of hybrids and flowers there?

Looks really cute. Let me move there and destroy your garden."

Someone's moving out tomorrow, hope this won't happen to me when someone new moves in...

it probably will happen though...

This is why I am so crazy for the lamp post PWP. Cheap, relatively easy to work into any town plan, and a fair way to keep an area "new house" proofed. I only wish I'd thought to place one before Sylvia plopped her house down right in front of a main bridge. *sigh*

Whenever a villager says they want to move, I let them (except Gayle, she will never move out maybe Puck too). I have two games so when they move out of one town they usually move to the other town. But I might stop letting them move out. Today, Rory moved into my second town after leaving my first town. He plopped his house right on top of the apple trees I was finally able to get from someone. Now they are gone. Luckly the other town had a few apples that I could take and replant. And Fuschia plopped her house right where I was going to put a flower arch that same day. I did make sure I put lamp posts at each end of all 3 bridges to make sure a villager doesn't block that.

OK PPL. I'm here to save the day with my know-how. There's a REALLY easy trick to choose where your villagers live. The day you're expecting a villager to move in don't start the game as mayor, but instead create a new character. Then once you get off the train first thing scour your village for their plot (ropes and a sign). If you don't like where they are, turn the game off without saving, and make a new character again. The spot will have moved. Keep doing this until you're thrilled with where your new townie will be. Then make a house with that new character somewhere you don't care about, and save. You can delete that character after if you wish. Vwalah.

I'd just made a little bamboo garden and finished planting some bushes around the edge of my paths and then Sally moved in RIGHT ON TOP of it all.... *sobs*

This is by FAR my biggest fear.
I may not have a lot of hybrids yet, but I have huge patches of flowers around my town. x___x

Does anyone know of a thing you can place in your town to prevent people from moving in? If you plant trees somewhere will they be able to move on top of them? I know the lamp post will based on this thread- just wanted to know if there was any more.
