problem with inviting an amiibo

so my brother wants a peppy and i suggested bianca
but when we went to scan her amiibo in it's saying she's moving??? we haven't used her amiibo on any of our ac games before so that made no sense

he has no one in boxes or in the process of moving in, there is someone in his campsite but amiibos normally just replace them
is this a big problem? i'm not entirely sure what's happening and he doesn't time travel so i can't go forward to try again

I think that means she's gonna move into an empty plot if you leave it open
he picked her up from someone else's void & she's the next to move in

how does the void thing work because he only visits mine, my sister's and my mum's island and none of us have had bianca before

i just asked him and he said he's visited his friends ages ago so that might be it

that's really weird though so i'll get him to invite someone else ☆

also I've heard it from this thread, on page 2 some people talk about it a bit more
someone pmed me and said the villager they wanted to move in via amiibo came voided from my island

Yeah, I've heard of this issue too.
Wondering if there's any solution is as it seems a bit strange.

he's started inviting another amiibo now
but hopefully another villager will ask to leave soon so we can fix it aha
