Hello all ^^,
So I'm really excited to say that I'll be getting New Leaf this week, and I actually can't contain my excitement. Now after Wild World, my love for Animal Crossing died down quite a bit after not being able to get Nookingtons - and I thought that was basically the end of it for me and Animal Crossing. It all started with Chuggaconroy (anyone follow him?) starting his Animal Crossing series. Not only was I a huge fan of his Let's Plays, but my interest for Animal Crossing had been renewed. Of course, I immediately started researching about New leaf and it's features. From what I found, New Leaf seemed to be a huge improvement from Wild World, from the graphics, to basically everything - and I've been hearing a whole bunch of positive feedback for this game. Ever since then I knew that once Boxing day arrived - I'd be getting this game along with a 3ds (I only have a Dsi, and have been playing on ps3 lol)

Ah, I just hope that New leaf won't suck away too much time once I get it. I hear it is quite addicting (anyone wanna share their addictions and maybe some advice? lol). Although it is Christmas break, there are still finals to study for >.<...or maybe I'm just old :/

Is anyone else perhaps getting this game sometime soon and can't contain their joy and anticipation either? Also pretty new to Bell Tree forums, so hoping to get to know all of you <3

Welcome on board :)
Back when the game released I played it pretty much all day every day for I think a month or so, and then I started to play less, it?s still fun, but eventually you will have less things to do, but the game is definitely worth the money. ^^

the game is definitely worth the money. ^^
I agree - the game is totally worth the money! Although I'm still just as addicted as the day I got it (when it came out) and I love that there are a lot more features to the game which makes it more fun to play for longer. There's always something to do too in my opinion ^-^

EDIT: Oh and almost forgot! Welcome to TBT :3

You're going to love New Leaf - it's a huge improvement from Wild World and Let's Go to the City

In all honesty Wild World is a complete downgrade from the original Animal Crossing. I know though that many people liked it because it was their first Animal Crossing game, but really they removed so many features from Wild World that were in Population Growing it was a bit boring. In my opinion, Let's Go To The City was a bit more of an upgrade, the only problem being that it lacked in some dialogue/conversation, and the city was just basically a little plaza with a handful of shops in it. However, I think Nintendo realised their previous mistakes and took all of the good bits from each game and threw it into one big mixture, adding in even extra stuff. It's definitely easier and better to customize your town how you want to now, and generally there's a whole lot more to do. Only problem I find is that the town in New Leaf is incredibly small in comparison to the others, I've had real trouble finding spaces for public works projects when my town really starts to grow. That's only a minor downside, though, so all I can say is if you want to take the game a bit more seriously you'd have to plan everything a lot more than just placing public works projects down anywhere. c: It is incredibly fun though and it's nice when you can see your town really begin to thrive and develop. :3 Also, welcome to the forums!

After my old ds broke, I completely forgot about Animal Crossing, but when I planned to buy a 3ds XL, I saw that there was a AC special version and I bought that one. The game is amazing ( some things could change though, like, more places, etc) and even after 5 months I play it a lot, seriously. It's really worth the money! Have fun!!! :D

- Btw, don't forget to get a town layout you like and a character face you like too ( you can't change it later!!).

Glad to see another Chugga fan! It was also him that inspired me to get New Leaf and tried it out. It has not disappointed me ever since I got it. The only real issue I have with it is the grinding for bells through bug catching but so far I have no complains other than that. Its worth the 45 bucks.

Its nice to see another Chuggaconroy fan. He was the one who got me to start playing NL again! ^^

Ahh, welcome! My interest waned as well, but I never even played WW so I'd say mine had waned after CF. I actually bought NL on an impulse, but I'm really glad I did.
The time it sucks up depends on the person. I've seen some people with 200 hours of playtime, or with 1000 hours of playtime, or anything.

You'll love New Leaf! Welcome :) While it is addicting, it is manageable. Just don't go too crazy at first, you'll tire out.

New Leaf is a MASSIVE improvement from WW and LGTTC, (CF).
I love the start, when Isabelle pressures you into going to the Town Hall and getting a house. Then you become mayor and you meet tons of nice villagers.
I mean, I didn't expect it, but I've become great friends with Monique. Also Cousteau, who I've always secretly liked. :P
The shops are great, there's way more variety, not just your bland of bag of medicine and a note in a bottle, but fortune cookies!
The Able Sisters is one of my favourite shops. It sells dresses and such, which I like wearing.
The events are really cool and fun, especially because I've never experienced them because I only ever played WW, but they took out all of the good stuff that was in the GC version.
Personally, this is the best installment of the series yet. There's way more to do in town.
You'll be addicted, trust me! :P
I still am. :D

Thank you all so much for the lovely replies! ( makes me feel all warm and fuzzy :3) I definitely will enjoy my time here with you all. Maybe we can all chill once I get the game lol.
Forgotten and Yui - Thanks so much ^^. Ah yes, that was actually me when I had Wild World ( except I started to get bored of it after the final upgrades to the house).

Takoya and Himari - Much agreed! I actually own the GC version of the game as well, and I couldn't help but notice that Wild world had such a choppy interface, and sometimes made it a chore to play. When I play it today, I immediately notice how bad the graphics are lol. I have never touched City Folk but I hear the GC version was still better lol. Thanks for your feedback - definitely looking forward to New Leaf even more now!

Tropicana - I was planning on getting the light pink 3Ds XL ( it's kinda a tradition for me to get pink DS consoles lol). As for town layout and character face, I already have the face I want in mind ( yup I did more research lol..). However as for town layouts, I'm not quite sure what would be ideal anymore ( wanna help me out anyone? D:)

Igotnoipad ( lol I'm actually typing on an ipad right now) and Samus - Yay more Chugga fans! I'm overjoyed to see other people who follow him as well, and he has definitely made a huge impact on which games I play lately. Also kinda glad I watched his vids because now I kinda know what to do for the daily routine lol.

itzafennecfox and Sleepy - LOL man knowing me I'll prob have at least over 200 hours of game time. Winter break and exam break and procrastination... It really builds up. I'll try to play it consistently, however I can't guarantee I won't go all out and have 3 day marathons lol ( so bad for the health T.T) and thanks for the welcomes ^^

Bear_crossing Lol I'm so looking forward to the customization options! I definitely got a feel for the gameplay from Chugga convoy's series, and all the things you said really stood out for me too ^^ man I'm gonna be so addicted...

Yes, I did feel the need to reply to all of you because I loved all your responses ^^.
So I see that today is Toy day - hopefully I can maybe time travel just a tiiiinnny bit to experience this event - Christmas events are the best ^^. Does anyone have any tips on finding your ideal town layout? Or even your personal preferences lol much appreciated ^^
