Possible release date?

Today I was at my local Game Stop and was browsing the games when I noticed the list for up-coming games was posted by the 3DS section, the first list I checked said 08/02/11
and when I asked for a copy, on the copy, it said 01/03/12. Which release date do you guys think would seem more reasonable and/or more likely?

Both of them are pretty much guaranteed to not happen if you ask me but of the two the January 2012 date would be more possible.

I was also thinking that too, but all we can really hope to do is wait for the actual release date from Nintendo.

August 2nd seems a bit unreasonable. It still need's some more time, I'm guessing it'll be Fall2011/Winter2012, because it's been in developent for over a year now.

I completely agree with you, it's been in development for a LONG time, and we've already sat through a year of getting a tiny amount of information. The released trailer appeared really polished - so I'm hoping for a release towards the end of the year :3

Well, I think it's pretty finished but they will hold out releasing it for the sake of having games spread out more. It sucks but it seems they'll do that. MAYBE a Japanese release late this year and ours early next year? They already have like 6 big games coming out in the next 8 months for the 3DS.

This. I think that a Jan, Feb, or March release would be fine with me. Cause thats not that far away. But you may be right on the holding it.

I don't think it will be August 2nd. I mean, Black and White were released in Japan in September 2010, and US/UK/AUS/EUR/every where else in March 2011, that is like a 6 month difference. So I doubt it.

True. However for the majority of the time. Animal Crossing Wild World and City Folk were all released around the same week with a difference of a few days (with the exception of Europe for WW and S.Korea for City Folk whom had to wait months and even years respectivly.)

Their financial reports say that it's set to be released before the end of the fourth Quarter. I don't know if that's America's or Japan's fiscal year.
America= September 30
Japan= March 31

I personally think they'll try and get it out before the Holiday season, so September sounds good to me

From what I have seen on some websites Nintendo plans to release it before there fiscal year I don't know if its true but it seems a bit possible.

I have a feeling that they will release it in time for Christmas/Holiday Season, because if kids don't already have a 3DS and want one, that'll be the time they get it, and they would need a couple games to go along with that. If it isn't out by December, you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be out just before January so the Christmas card money may be spent on it. The August release would be preferable, but if they make it great by January that'd be fine I guess. I've just waited so long already! DAMN YOU, NINTENDO!
