Hello!

I'm experiencing a weird glitch and cannot find ANYTHING on it. I have Gladys on my island and I caught her sleeping outside on the beach 2 hours after she would have gone inside for bed. I woke her up, she acknowledged she should go home, and she just.

Stood there. She won't move. She interacts fine but will not walk. Even on the title screen she was seen stationary in the plaza.

Has anyone else experienced this? Have never had this happen before the update last night...

EDIT:

Managed to find 2 very sparse posts about this same issue but no real rhyme or reason to it OR solution. Hoping others may have experienced this and can help if they know how to fix.

I had the same glitch occur a few weeks ago with Stitches. He was asleep on the title screen. When I woke him up, he stayed at the same spot for over an hour. When I closed the game and opened it again, he had teleported to elsewhere and then remained there for another half an hour before I gave up. Not sure if it's related or not, but the following day, it rained, and while he was back to normal walking around, he wore his raincoat all day, even inside his home, long after the rain ended and everyone else went back to their normal clothes.

Fortunately, after a day or so of weirdness, he was back to normal. I haven't seen the glitch on him for weeks, and all my other villagers are fine. I have no idea what caused the glitch, but I'm hoping that your Gladys will turn out the same and be fine after a day or two!

Yeah I saved and restarted and reboot r d my console and she's STILL stuck. She was idling on the startup screen which was super weird. Hopefully it fixes itself tomorrow... :( I've seen this issue go back as far as early April.

I even pushed her to her front door and she didn't get mad OR go back to her original spot.

hope that gets fixed soon! the only issue I've had so far is my villagers walking into objects (like they're kinda moonwalking). It happens multiple times a day and wasn't fixed in any of the patches. I wonder if nintendo knows about this stuff

I've seen this a LOT. Mostly Marshal trying to walk into the ocean. I try to push him away but he goes right back. Its frustrating, but not like this one :(

Yeah, mine was around early to mid April as well. I also tried pushing Stitches a bit. I didn't do it too much because I didn't want to make him mad, but it's interesting to note that they can't get mad in that state. He also didn't bother moving after I pushed him.

Weird question, but hear me out. Has your Gladys been sick recently and needed medicine? Because my Stitches got the glitch right after he got a cold. I was wondering if maybe the sickness event didn't end properly and messed up his AI for a few days? Having a villager glitch out after becoming sick sounds very ironic, but it's the only idea I have.

No she's been fine :( She was even crafting this morning. I know Marshal, Raymond, and Bluebear were up and could have been outside but weren't for some reason. Wonder if she "had" to stay outside and it pushed her out too far and glitched her?

I had this one earlier this month. Reneigh was stuck at her door, but she turned her head to look at me which was odd. I got videos of it here and here. I think the strangest part was that not even a net knocked her out of the animation, nor did going inside another building. I logged out for the night but the outside shot of the opening screen still showed her stuck.

Seems like you had the exact issue I have. Did waiting until next day fix her?

Hm... Yeah, I remember now. I also had the glitch happen at night. I think that the villagers now have much more flexible schedules, so while they don't necessarily go to sleep at a specific time, they follow a rough timetable. And if you play very late at night when everyone should be asleep, I think the game always gives you at least one villager to stay awake with you. So Stitches was outside later than normal.

I've also seen an uncommon bug where villagers will hold tools like rods and nets inside their home. Not sure if it's related or not. But it does seem like there's some weirdness with the game recognizing if a villager is inside or outside.

I'd hang on for a few days to see if it fixes itself before getting too worried.

Wow this would be really creepy if she kept talking about how tired she was all day 👀

Wow this is the first time I've heard of this glitch... that's actually really bad? Have you contacted Nintendo about the bug? If you haven't, you really should!

Hope Gladys gets back to normal soon!

I just came on here to ask the same question. It’s way past dizzys bedtime and he’s sleeping standing at the beach. I noticed it earlier he was standing in the plaza with a bubble over his head saying my name, but he made no move to run toward me like villagers usually do. When I talked to him he gave me a shirt and then fell asleep. I went inside for a bit and when I came out he was in a new spot still asleep.

I've had this happen a couple of times but they were usually fixed by the next day. I also noticed Nan watering the same two flowers for about 2 hours. Every time I passed a particular spot there she was, going back and forth between the same 2 flowers with her watering can.

That seems like a weird glitch, I saw something similar on twitter and the villager froze while singing.
