well i've been just casually searching ebay for a cheap second copy of the game so i can do some cycling, and i've noticed there are a lot of people offering millions of bells and item sets for real life money. for instance, there is 100 million bells being offered for just ?4.

would you do it? i don't think i would, i feel quite paranoid those items and bells are received through cheats or glitched or something, idk i may be wrong but it puts me off, i'd rather make my own bells personally.

how about you?

I'm just really cheap and don't think I could justify buying something like that for actual money, lol.

I wouldn't because I don't have the need to really. It's not like you need that many bells ingame, I get all I need from selling TBT bells.

I wouldn't just because it's not worth it to me. I don't care if other people choose to do it, but idk man there are about a thousand things I'd rather spend my money on rather than game currency that's really easy to obtain in-game >__>

i agreeee

I can see buying currency on games where it's super hard to earn it yourself
but it's so easy to make bells in this game there's no point, really
all you'd be saving is the time spent in earning them

I really don't get people who actually do that. I mean, you can always get more bells in ac, so why would you spend your own money for some pixel money..? :D

Far too risky, in my opinion. The only game I have ever spent money on in-game currency was a game called Transformice & that was to buy an item that cost 7,000 cheese and I had like 400 u_u

+ it helped the game company out since they're not a large company so idk I don't regret that. This, though, I feel like is just scamming waiting to happen. :v

hells noe.

You can make those bells, plus I wouldn't feel too great about giving some person money that has nothing of more value to sell.

No, I don't see why. This isn't one of those games where you have to pay to unlock things. You can unlock things in the game by yourself with some patience and time, especially if you learn which items are worth more and how to use the turnip system. Also, being on these forums is a huge help since you can trade TBT for bells and all that takes is hanging out around the forum. Maybe if you're lazy and don't mind paying for something that is actually free, I don't see why not, I just personally wouldn't. I see ACNL as just a game so I don't see the point in paying real-life money for bells.

one of my favorite things about AC is that you don't need real life money in order to make the game more playable. if people want to buy bells, that's their prerogative, but honestly, it seems sort of weird to me???

Nintendo could have been the ones making this sort of money, but they chose to give us free content and DLC. That's the reason why nobody should support the people on eBay and Yahoo Auctions who want to sell in-game items for real money.

Collecting all those exclusive items like Gracies sets also takes so much more work than is worth the couple of dollars they sell them for, and that practically indicates cheated items. Some of us might not even want duped items even if we were given them for free.

Lastly, I think getting Bells that way just defeats the purpose of the game.

Read that a couple bought bells because they didn't have time.
They just bought the game and had a new baby.

I don't get the point of this. Paying for extra currency in an MMO or something by DLC/Ingame Shop is one thing, but you can make infinite Bells in AC via many easy methods, including duping. This kind of selling is also against eBay's ToS. I recall it being illegal to resell an item you got for free in a game for real money via online store sites like this. I've heard of people having their accounts closed for getting caught doing this kind of stuff. Some people get around it by selling a used game that has the content on it, but selling the digital items themselves for real money is a ToS violation.
