I'd go with the spot in the corner above the town tree. It's a cute idea that the station will be watching over the center of the town and it doesn't really get in the way there.

I put mine up in the very corner there when I had a map like yours and really disliked how cluttered it looked, but that's just me and my weird rules for where I place things. I don't like icons to touch each other or the edge of the cliff or river.

It would be easier to help you if you had used different color dots or numbers. I like the area to the right of Re-Tail, above the river.

I'm not sure if you read the post completely (I was confused at first too), but he/she noted that the yellow dota are actually places for her villagers to go.

I don't know any places myself though, I find it hard enough to decide for my own pwp placements.

My bad. Sometimes I post early in the morning and I think I'm reading things right, but... LOL. Still, I do like that spot for a police station.
