I am thinking of getting the new Pokemon game (well its not that new anymore but you know) I was just wondering how you guys thought of the game before I got it. Is it a lot like X and Y? I am talking about Omega ruby and sapphire

I havent finished it, but so far it remains true to what was good in both the original games and in X/Y. I'd definitely pick it up. However, something you might want to know is that there are no rollerskates. There is fully-controlled, all-directional running. Also a bike.

If you like reading lots of character dialog, you'll love the new Pokemon games!

Delta Episode makes the game worth getting.

The main story is pretty much the same old. Catch pokemon, fight gyms, beat the Elite Four, do the kind of okay written story, credits. But what happens after makes OR/AS blows most pokemon games out of the water. Was honestly surprised at how well done the story to Delta is and it ties up some loose ends in regard to certain pieces of the story that don't add up with older games.

ORAS doesn't have nearly as much dialogue as X/Y. I mean, in X/Y, your "friends" are stopping you practically on every route to bug the heck out of you (especially your first trip to Lumiose City).

I honestly enjoyed ORAS, though if you haven't played the original R/S/E games, just be aware that there are seven HMs in the game, and you need to use six of them to progress in the story. They unfortunately didn't change that from the old games.
The majority of pokemon you can catch are Hoenn exclusive pokemon (there are a few from previous generations...like zubat; how can you have a cave without zubat? >.> ), but the plot is fairly generic.

It utilizes the exp share the same way X/Y did, and the Champ is actually challenging (unlike X/Y, where it was a disappointment).

Pokemon contests give you something different to do if you get tired of the same old song and dance of pokemon games (generic plot, fight pokemon gyms, etc).

I'm in the middle of the Delta episode right now, and so I have to agree with Prof Gallows on that point.

Oh, I know. I played X.
That's why I said "new Pokemon games" meaning, the newest installments.
But if someone picked up ORAS after only playing R/S/E, they would be extremely surprised at the amount of dialog added. But if they have played X, it wouldn't be so much of a shock.
