Not sure what peoples opinions are on this but there is a way to set the battle timer to 60 minutes, but it requires more setup.

Battles being decided by the 20 minute timer kinda sucks, so just wanted to throw this out there
  1. Go to poke portal
  2. Battle Stadium
  3. Online Competitions
  4. Host a competition under the Friendly Competitions column
  5. Fill out the information needed
5a. For rules, set it to Normal Rules (should be set level 50, choose 1-6 Pokemon)
5b. Competition period, which needs to be scheduled a day in advance unless you want to do some timezone trickery, you have a 3 hour window to do your match
5c. You can set your personal turn timer and total time, both go up to 60 minutes (usually its set to 20 personal 60 total in my experience)

6. Register your team as a battle team in boxes, third tab on the top right

At the time of battle, give your competition code to your opponent and have them search for it in battle stadium friendly competition as opposed to link battle.

Also you can only create or join one competition per day, so keep that in mind while scheduling

5a. For rules, it depends if they want level 50 or level 100 pokemon, No restrictions for 100 Normal rules for 50 (no restrictions might take the actual level rather than set to 100, unsure)

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Because we're using all six Pokemon, 20 minutes in my experience often wasn't enough time for matches to properly conclude (and they weren't stally matches either). Having more time would be a very welcome change.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tournament

Hi folks! The tournament is now ready to begin! To see your battles, please refer to the Challonge page.

Unlike the TBTWC, you don't have a set time to complete each round. We just need all battles completed by 11:59PM EST on Saturday December 7th 2024.

Reminder that both users need to send an update to the Pokémon Tournament board upon completion of a battle with screenshots as evidence. If you could include both usernames in the thread title (and who you are in the post if you use a different name in-game) that would be great. You'll receive your bells as long as both users report the same results and provide screenshots. :)

I'm leaving it to the community decide if they'd like to follow @IonicKarma's advice for longer battles here.

I'll try to get bells sent out and Challonge updated at least once every 48hrs. 🤞

Participant List:
@Bellrose
@Javocado
@Firesquids
@IonicKarma
@Rainy.Nights
@VillageDweller
@Vhoop
@Chibi.Hoshi
@LoyalDragonfly
@Foreverfox

Well, I would have loved to participate but wasn't aware of this tournament until right now... I don't think it was advertised anywhere? If it's possible, I'd be happy to sub in for Firesquids.

Sorry for the late response - hectic work week.

Unfortunately the method I used to advertise (thread highlights) was disabled and I wasn't aware until sign-ups closed. :(

That's fine by me. Although anyone who completed a battle with Firesquids would need to redo them. Hopefully everyone is okay with that. I'll try get Challonge updated to reflect this tonight.

Bells for all battles so far have been distributed. Please let me know if I missed any by @'ing me in a new post in the relevant thread.
