Unfortunately with game development becoming so much more costly and piracy becoming far too easy freemium is the best platform for most companies to adopt. Today I'm getting Battlefield 4 premium, I'm not happy about it because I have to pay ?40 on top of the ?50 I paid for Battlefield, just so I can play more than a handful of maps as well as gain some weapons and so on.
This is the way gaming is going and no matter if we do or don't buy these fremium games/add ons they will always be there because some people will pay regardless. I never used to buy any of it but when all of my friends are playing on maps and trading things I can't it leaves me in a position where I don't have an option.
I've heard the next CoD game is going entirely Pay to Win.
This. Seriously, what game does Nintendo think they're playing? I'm really hoping they know we are the ones who make them possible, or else there will be no such thing as Nintendo by 2015.I hope Nintendo goes bankrupt. I really do.
Dude, don't EVEN joke about that, just wait, it'll probably come true.
I'm not mad at pokebank because of the fees, after all servers cost money to maintain and $5 a year is hardly a lot. But they way they've handled the whole rollout is just unacceptable. First it breaks, they take it down, with NO word, and it stays down, with NO word, for over a month! And they didn't even release an announcement when it came back!
It's like, Nintendo acted as if we wouldn't notice, or that they could slink by without even so much as an apology for their blatant failure. But no, they're too cocky to even give us that one tiny shred of decency. I hope Nintendo goes bankrupt. I really do.

I've heard that Nintendo's customer service is bad too.
EA treats people better than somebody else? Since when does this happen?
edit: out of curiosity... why didn't you take Nintendo to court if they fired you when you were the victim? (Mind you.. they'd probably just bribe the judge)
In all fairness Battlefield doesn't have this nor will it, they've established a DLC/premium service, they make all the money they need off of that without giving an easy win to anyone.I wasn't joking about that. It's either Battlefield or CoD that the entire next game is pay to win. You want the best gun in the game with all the upgrades for it? Just buy it.
It's true that they should at least release statements. I think the way Nintendo are is largely down to the reputation they have had in the past where they could "do no wrong", however now people are starting to demand more and I think they don't yet realise how angry some people are with them.Dude, don't EVEN joke about that, just wait, it'll probably come true.

Sorry but as someone who knows many many people who work at EA Canada I can assure you that they love their job. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the devs at EA are passionate, love what they do but it's the higher job holders at EA that make decisions that restrict the quality they can put out as they budget and demand certain sales numbers or the next budget gets lowered.EA treats people better than somebody else? And as a result, we get games like the Sim City that came out last year? Where it doesn't even work for the first month or so as they 'try' to fix it?
Like we haven't got Celebis. The fee thing tick me off, really. Like, all those transfer **** were free back in the day and.. Whoa! Game on 3DS? Let's make it freemium with this. Shtap abusing eshop. And yes I know you get trial.. buuut what if you need it later. BE fast? Yeah, still against it.
