I used to, but not anymore. My villager houses are all set but there are times when I feel like changing them so I make sure to cover the possible 3x3 areas that I don't want them to move with patterns then simply load the mayor file the next day. Your plot reset guide is awesome though!

Plot resetting is my life OK :V
I get so ocd when it comes to villager houses lmao :'D

Same here. If it's not in the exact location I want, I'm not satisfied.

That's a lot of work to cover 3x3 areas. ;p If you do that method though, it's ideal to do it on another file that can be deleted so all the patterns get wiped automatically if you delete that file.

My town is naturally covered with paths so I don't really have to place everything down again. There are only around 4-5 spots that have group of flowers, bushes or trees on them. It doesn't take more than 15 minutes to cover all and move a new villager in an ideal spot (assuming I'm going to TT to the next day to make their plot move in an instant) XD Sure, I can do plot resetting if I opted not to cover the possible areas but that'll probably take too much time for me depending on my luck.

Well for newbies, it's a lot of work to do the three by three path method. It's just tedious. When I tried doing the three by three path method it took more than fifteen minutes. I think it all depends on which method someone prefers. c:

Yes.
Plot resetting is something I do all the time. :p

Omg that's genius to use a new character to lay paths for a move in and then delete the character. What have I been doing with my life, why didn't I think of that!

Yeah, I actually did plot resetting similar to how it's written in your guide when I was starting and trying to align the houses :)

Yup! Every time I have a new villager move in I have to plot resset until they are out of the upper half of my town.

Nah, I like the challenge of landscaping around terrible house placements.

I plot reset all the time, just to make my town look tidier and so I can have room for landscaping my town. I currently have all of my villagers in one little area, like a neighbourhood. c:

I still plot reset. Even with the path trick I don't really trust where villagers will plot yet.

I did with Mortmain, but all the upkeep of a "perfect" town kinda stressed me out. I just reset my town tonight and I don't plan on plot resetting since I'm going for a natural forest theme. All of my starting villagers are horrible though so I'll have to rid myself of them all which is sad because their houses are in perfect places!

I plot reset a lot due to the new patterns block off areas thing. I never did before because it was too frustrating. Before the update I actually gave up decorating my town because everything kept getting ruined and it was so upsetting.

I have before, but now I just use the blocking off method, block over everywhere they could plot with paths and leave the spot i want them exposed. =]

The "theme" (it isn't really a theme but kinda my aim) is a natural town. i haven't any paths, there are a lot of trees, clovers and flowers, a lot of wooden and natural PWPs and because of that I decided to use the plot reset method not. In my opinion it's kind of unnatural and yeah, that's it.
