Plot resetting is a pain.

I hate how long plot resetting can take. I'm trying to get all my villagers to live on one side of the river. Today, my favorite villager, Wolfgang, is building his house. I've been plot resetting for THREE HOURS and I can't get his plot on the right side of the river! There is room for at least 3 more houses over there. Lots of room for him to build. But nooooo, he has to be difficult.

I forget what actually playing the game is like at this point. I only know plot resetting.

This is basically me with Whitney. I got her in my campsite last night, I plot reset for three hours, and put my 3DS away to get some sleep. I'm up and at it again, still trying to get Whitney where I want her. My town has PWPs everywhere, houses everywhere (both extra save files and villagers I won't keep) and yet she still manages to find a space in the northern part of my town where I don't want her.

Oh, I know. -.- When I was plotting Rosie, I had wanted her in line with Marina and Genji's house. I spent hours and ultimately ended up with her 1 space below where I had wanted her. When I took in Lolly, I was thinking, 'No biggie, I'll just put Lolly next to Rosie and that'll straighten things out." Hours pass and Lolly ends up plotting in line with Marina and Genji... A SPACE ABOVE ROSIE. Every single villager house in town is 1 space off from being in straight lines. THE FRUSTRATION!! >.<

I was plot resetting Stinky, and on the first try his house didn't destroy anything, but was right next to the path on one side. I thought it would be better if there was grass all around his house, and there was space for him to move over a space and have a full yard. I reset that spot. I spent hours resetting that day, and began to regret that decision. I kept trying to get Stinky in a good spot, but he always plotted in the same bad places.

In total, I spent about 6 hours resetting that day, because it was on the weekend, I didn't have anything else to do, and I was determined. I then gave up and had to freeze my town in time on that day so I could reset the next day. In total I spent 6 days resetting, about 2 hours each day except for my first day of resetting. During that time, I was missing playing ACNL normally.

The spot I chose was the same spot as my first try. I wasn't very picky anymore. I was relieved to be done, but I wished I had gone with the first spot.

The moral of the story:
DO NOT BE SUPER PICKY ABOUT WHERE A VILLAGER'S HOUSE GOES.

The only time I plot reset is when a village moves their house too close to mine (read: close enough to see when I step out the front door, below my house) or too close to where I already want a bridge (I like to space my bridges so that travel is easier, and honestly... it irritates me so much to be told "This is too close to a house." Yes, well. I'm the mayor, and I say that 3-5 'spaces' isn't too close (besides who doesn't want a little walking bridge right outside?)

I kind of have to be picky because I have PWPs that I can't demolish in time, and if she's one space away, then I can't have a house between her and Marshal :U if she does that, then one of my villagers will have to end up in the northern part of my town, completely isolated... I have to be picky haha

I'm not super picky about where houses go. I just want most of them in "Animal Town" aka, the southern section of my map with 7 villagers. But as long as they aren't in the middle of a road or my orchard, I'm not too picky. Some people reset if they're one space off, but I'd rather just move the road one space down to compensate.

Have you read this thread?

http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?310996-The-precision-of-villager-plot-resetting

It discusses number of buildings allowed in an acre. I've wasted a lot of time plot resetting when the villager couldn't move in where I wanted, even though there was "space."

Another reason why I have to be picky with where they go haha I counted out the acre spaces and everything, to make sure it followed the 3 houses per acre rule. Such a pain, and Whitney being stubborn isn't helping.
