Well, if you aren't yet connected to Nintendo WFC, you need to talk to Cooper at the town gate. There will be an option that says something like Friend Code. Click that, he will connect you to WFC and then give you your code.
If you already did that, click on the heart where the menu is. It's located next to your town map option, from there, click on the button thats next to the place that lists your registered friends. Your code should be there.
