Please help me with the spider!

So I have been dying here trying to catch a spider, I have lots of trees. The only bugs I need this month is that and the common butterfly, I'm so angry right now. It's impossible, I have never seen one, ever. Does anyone have some tips? Please anything... I feel like I'm on a impossible trip here.

As far as I've experienced, the spider only appears in the fruit trees, not the normal trees. Otherwise, yes, I rarely encounter them myself....

I'm really struggling with spider (and bagworm) too; I've read that you can catch them just by hitting the tree with the net, rather than having to shake the tree first. Can anyone confirm this for me?

I see them almost constantly it seems like whenever I shake trees..... Like everyone else said just keep shaking the trees and be ready for when one comes down. :3 (Get rid of all other tools in your pocket so you can catch it before it goes away)

I think I recall just walking close by the trees and when I hear the noise I would turn to the tree I just passed and swipe my net. I've got all my bugs so yeah. Also shake the trees I guess lol

Just keep at it. If you're already shaking trees to find furniture/bells anyway then you're bound to accidentally come across one anyway. I've caught a few in the past few days without even looking for them.

if the spider goes back up into the tree you can always shake the tree again and it'll come down again

i can confirm this though i usually still shook the tree first, but sometimes i couldn't get my net in time (esp when it's stored in letters like i usually have them)

when i first saw this thread i thought you meant tarantula which i've been having so much trouble with, all i see is scorpions, think i've seen one tarantula and it bit me because i accidentally had my net out

If you can't find the spider the first time around with shaking trees, reset by going into a building and shake the trees again. Also night time for me seems like the best time to catch them so you could try that. Playing with headphones might help. You could also push villagers around in front of trees and they'll look up, that should indicate either bag worm or spider.

It's not like they're super fast or anything though, plus you can just shake the tree again to catch them. Have the net out then put it away to shake the tree and it should be the first tool that comes out when you find the spider. Good luck!

When I caught mine I was just going around my town shaking all the trees, then going into the train station to reset bugs, and shaking all the trees again. You'll get one eventually this way.

Yeah,you just swipe your net through the leafy part of the tree.For some reason,I find more spiders and bagworms on the left side of the trees.I got tired of getting stung by bees so I started doing it this way.
