Plaza Tree frozen forever?

OK, so I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf since summer of 2013. (When it came out)
Basically, my Plaza Tree is stuck on the 2nd or 3rd upgrade? (3 leaves)
I've played almost 500 hours of the game (450-ish hours) And I've definitely played more than 50 days (which I think is the upgrade to 5 leaves at least) Is there a reason this is happening?

I looked up the upgrades: here's the list:
Hours + Days : Number of Leaves ratio

More info: I did restart the game ONCE, but this town was created July 28th, 2013 according to my TPC. (still a very long time ago)

I visited your DA. Do you TT a lot? The tree grows based on hours and days. Your tree is only at 100 days played (doesn't count days you skip over) with 100 hours played. It only has 3 clusters of leaves because it is spring; by summer there should be a normal amount (Ten or something like that? Looks like 6, but there're the ones in the back to count, I guess). If you've played nearly 500 hours, then it's the days you're behind on.

Yeah, time traveling can make it grow differently like Etienne said Don't worry, it's probably not stuck forever!
