Playing without dreamies?

I have 7 permanent villagers, and only a few of them were 'dream villagers', the majority were ones I met at campsite or were random move-in, or saw in people's dream towns etc. So I have 3 free spaces to meet new villagers every now and again, and I call these my 'tempies'. I like playing that way, I'd hate to never have any new faces in my town, I'd personally find it boring.

New Leaf is the first game where I set villager goals; I've never had "dreamies" before, I've always played just seeing who shows up. Sometimes I do worry that I might get bored of having the same 10 villagers... but so far, I've never gotten tired of any of the dreamies I have. I love all my deer and I'm excited for the day when I finally have all of them together.

I do sometimes worry about not playing for a long time and that one of my dreamies will move out, like what happened with Fauna, but now I know how to prevent that. So it's not stressful or boring for me at all! It's relaxing and fun. I love my dreamies. :)

Like Faery, I never had "dreamies" before New Leaf. But with New Leaf came the dangers of new plots popping up right on pathways or flower meadows, which really irritated me after a few weeks of playing. So I got into plot resetting and suddenly got very interested in the possibility of influencing which villager I would get, so of course I would try to optimize.

Also with New Leaf came the possibility of seeing other player's towns through multiplayer (new to me) and the dream suite, and this is how I met and fell in love with certain villagers. I don't have a definite set of "dreamies", but I do invest time to find certain villagers I really like because I think they complement the theme and atmosphere I imagine for my town. I also care about how the villagers look and fit together because I just like certain color combinations.

Lastly I'd like to add that a villager is not only their physical design, but also their personality (I try to have at least one of each), their house exteriors and interiors, and with all of that, some villagers remind me of certain things or even people in my life, so this is another personal aspect which makes me prefer them and want them for my town. :)

Good thing Animal Crossing lets players do whatever they please, so everyone can play the game the way they like <3

I never had dreamies until I came to Bell Tree. Now I have a little list, but I have a very relax approach to it. I'm keeping most of the villagers I have because I'm attached to them. But for the ones I don't, I just wait for them to move and see if any of my dreamies are being offered in the villager thread. I have a few backups in mind, so if I get one but not another, that's perfectly fine with me. :) Dreamies to me are not worth stressing about.

I have a few villagers that I can't let move.(O'Hare, Bob, Fauna, and Katt) The rest may someday move so I can meet new villagers. I'm not looking to have ten dreamies.
