How does this work? I don't think I'm understanding. Please read:

I have the Island Designer App, and I have all of the path expansions (including the custom design one). When I load a custom design into the path maker, I try to place a path with it and it just shows up as it would if I chose "display on ground" from my design app. I can even kick it up with my foot by pressing Y. So what's the point of having a custom path option if it doesn't even look like a path?? It's exactly the same as displaying a design on the ground.

At first I thought that was just how it worked, which is fine. But I've been seeing images of people's towns where it looks like they have custom design paths - like actual paths. They are narrower and have the grassy borders like the pathing app makes.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

The purple squares in their town look like they were placed with the pathing tool. They have a grassy border and they are smaller in size as compared to the "display on ground" option. And unless I'm wrong, there's definitely not a purple path in the game, so this must be a custom design.

Am I misunderstanding something? When I try to make paths with custom patterns, why don't they look like these purple ones?? ;-;

what you do is put down one of the in-game paths i.e dirt or brick, then you display your own path on top and it keeps the grassy border!
for this to work, your path needs at least 1 transparent pixel ^^

Omg thank you
Just tried it and that makes so much sense haha

It's annoying that they can still be kicked up, but oh well
