So I've been confused about the picture thing and I need to get it straightened out. I've always thought that they would give me a picture whenever they move out, but I've seen thee wise from screenshots on here. So is it like WW? They ping you or something when they want to give you their picture? (Along with giving it to you when they move out because that's happened to me once before).

Each time you do a job for your villagers, there is a little jingle that they make that signifies that you have gain more friendship with them
Eventually, once u get high enough with friendship, they will ping u to give you one, or send it in the mail!
If you do a job bad, or make them angry/sad, your friendship level will go down, and it will take longer to get the picture

Actually, they don't ping you to give you one. Not in New Leaf anyway. They did that in WW and maybe CF (I didn't play that much City Folk)
I just always thought that they would give it to you when they leave, and only when they leave, not while they're living in the town.
Aside from helping them, giving them perfect fruits from other towns help to speed up the process a lot! Writing them letters help too. One way you can know that your friendship with a villager is high is when they send you a lot of letters with gifts.
Ahh I always forget about letters! Lol I literally never write any. I guess I should start doing that. Skye and Ch?vre send me lots of gofts so I guess I'm doing well with them ^_^

I personally don't write letters all that much to villagers (I forget to), but I always trade with the villagers, run their errands for them and if they ask for a regular fruit, I always give them the perfect one if I have it. And I also just talk to the villagers every time I play. I've gotten quite a few pics when villagers leave and I've gotten 1 from Ankha (she's still in my town). If I remember correctly, she gave it to me as a reward for doing something for her.
