I just picked this up a couple days back, and very recently finished case 4; which has to have the biggest plot twist I've seen yet in an Phoenix Wright game(by very recently, I mean JUST finished it a few minutes before posting this thread, and I was not expecting the outcome of the case to be what it is... totally blew away my guess at who did it).

Anyway, feel free to talk about any other cases as well, just try to keep spoilers within spoiler tags for those of us who haven't actually finished all the cases yet[that includes the DLC case as well].

My thoughts on the twist at the end of case 4: ":....WHUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?"

(On an unrelated note.. does anyone else's 3DS's top screen have lines from the edges of the bottom screen, seemly, permanently on the top screen? I just noticed them on mine when I started using the 3DS effects again for this game.)

Also, I apologise if there's already a topic for this game, as I didn't see one anywhere prior to making this one.

Here you go. :)

I absolutely loved this game. It was the very first time I played an "Ace Attorney" game and had literally no idea what to expect. I downloaded the demo, asked for some advice here and then decided to buy the game. And did not regret it a single second. I also loved the DLC episode; well worth its money!

I'm now very much looking forward to the remake of the original trilogy coming to the eShop this winter (would love to have an exact date!); I can't wait to play those games. Especially since I finished "Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" yesterday and want to play more with Maya! :)

As for the fourth case in "Dual Destinies"; same here. I sat staring at my screen, blinking and going "What? But... I... Eh... WHAT???" I thought it was absolutely brilliant, actually. :D

For the lines you mention; I can't say. I never use the 3DS effects because they give me a headache, so I have no idea if they correctly work on my 3DS or not. :o

Only Phoenix Wright game I haven't actually played is Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright(but I've heard nothing but praise about it)

never played a phoenix wright Game, but they look fun at this point waiting for the combo pack to be us released so i can play 1st 3 games all in 1.

Dual Destinies's final case wrecked me in a way that I haven't experienced since the final case of Trials and Tribulations. Definitely a great game, though I couldn't help but be salty that Maya wasn't present and that Pearl was only brought back for fanservice.

I also found it interesting that they incorporated some Dangan Ronpa-esque elements into the game (idk if any of you guys have played/read DR, so). Some of them were okay additions, but the way they seemed to try to emulate certain parts of DR's overall plot left me feeling... weird. I guess it is the new age of the law. (Sorry if I was vague, I was trying to make this as unspoilery as possible for OP).

I've yet to play it. And yes, I didn't even read the OP. I own every Ace Attorney (including DD), but work keeps me busy and tired. Almost done with the 4th case of Apollo Justice and I finished AAI before that, which was okay. I doubt anything can outdo the first and third game's story, but Apollo Justice is quite good so far opposed to popular opinion. But seriously, I don't think Trials and Tribulations can ever be out done, the way everything from the series connected and the heartbreak from the revelation of the culprit in the final case was perfect. It really should have been the end of the series like Shu Takumi wanted. Which is also why I'm not too eager to play DD, the writer of Ace Attorney didn't even make the game, he was busy working on PLvsPW.

Don't worry, I finished the final case the other day, but let's still try to keep spoilers to a minimum for those who haven't played the game yet; in case they decide to pick it up.

That said.. the Phantom... WHO THE **** IS HE/SHE?!
