Phoebe's new obsession

A while ago one of the other villagers sent Phoebe a strawberry tee. She put it on immediately and has worn nothing else since. Honestly, I don't mind what my villagers wear all that much, but with Phoebe something strange has been happening.



They're multiplying.

As far as I know, Phoebe has done nothing to acquire those two extra shirts. I have not seen her purchase any at Re-tail, I haven't delivered her any packages containing clothing, and I haven't sent her any myself. But now she suddenly has three of the same shirt.

Is this just her new thing? Should I help her get more strawberry tees? Should I get her the matching hat? Maybe invite her over and have some strawberry tea?

Those wacky village animals.

They don't need to purchase the t-shirt to gift it to others. They can just clone them at will lol. Same thing happened with the melon shirt in my town. For some reason Freckles had like 3 of them in her house and her neighbours were wearing them too.
Sometimes if you're lucky (or unlucky depending on the shirt they're sharing) you can see the convo between two villagers when the trade happens!

Yeah. If you want to purposefully make a villager change shirt and for whatever reason don't want to gift it to them or make them buy it, you can confine them to holes and they will eventually talk to each other.

So I suppose if you want to unoriginalise a villager that's the way to go? Pretty sure they can exchange furniture too and they definitely switch catchphrases.
