Pattern Help?

Alright, so I'm aware that if I lay down paths and then put a new pattern over it in the Able Sisters, the path will be replaced with the new pattern, but is this the same for signs i put up (ie the camp sign here) and for town flags?

any signs, face cutout standees, and flags, won't change

I'm not sure about the custom sign thing, but town flag doesn't change even after putting new pattern over it.

I designed my town flag on my side character and replaced the flag design with QR code path. My town flag is still the same.
