Hey all,
I have been checking out the villager trading plaza(I want Molly) and I keep seeing posts that list an available villager and says original or not(I am assuming this means original to your town and not obtained from another player).
Does this matter? I mean does it effect your game in some way? What am I missing?

original means they are in the state they were in when they spawned from the game- meaning shirt, catchphrase, and house are the same!
people like adopting original villagers bc that's when they're cutest i guess, and even though they eventually will become unoriginal when they change stuff, i like to see the slow degradation of my villagers' aesthetics in my own town :,)

Original means like that haven't changed catchphrase or greeting, wearing their original clothes, and their house looks exactly how it does when they first move to a town (no bugs, fish, extra furniture or missing furniture or stuff like that). Some players like it when they adopt their villagers that they are just like if that villager was a random move in or a campsite/RV move in. Others don't really care. Just depends on the player.

Oh now I understand. I wasn't even thinking about clothes or catchphrase and stuff. I can see why that would matter to some people. I think I'd prefer Molly that way but I want her regardless. Thanks for clearing that up. :)
