Ore rocks/ moving rocks

hey folks!! I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but it's been ages since I've really worked on my town so I've forgotten a lot about how things work.

so I've got a few annoying rocks (I can hear the new horizon players laughing) but I was curious if I missed the ore rock one day if it moved to a different rock or if somehow a regular rock could become an ore rock.

when I used to play on my brothers town I have a very vague memory of an annoying rock by my house that one day I tapped and got a rock. since then my brother sold the town and I have no evidence of this, so for all I know it's actually made up and it never happened, but I was just curious if this has either happened to others or if this is actually a normal thing.

Hmm I don't think ore rocks can become "real rocks" or vice versa... I think there are a certain number of them that never move and one ore rock that pops up anywhere.

The thing with your brother's town could be a memory blank thing that happens to me sometimes, where I ignore the ore rock for a while and eventually break it by accident while looking for the money rock, having forgotten that it was the ore rock in the first place since I'm so used to seeing it in the background...

yeah I did think so, this was years and years ago (possibly when the game was first released) so that's the most likely cause thanks though!!
