Does anyone else find Pokemon ORAS way too easy?

I remember Ruby being much harder, and an Emerald nuzlocke I ran destroyed half my team by the time I got Surf (heck, Flannery's torkoal took out my marshtomp with a crit on overheat; that's how tough it was).

With AS, I'm at least 5 levels over the trainers and gym leaders, and when I just battled Flannery the other night, expecting a tough battle, my marshtomp swept her team (granted, I thought her pokemon were at level 32 for some reason).

Yes, I'm using the exp share, which is probably why it's a bit easier...but I really hate grinding. It's probably the reason for the easy difficulty, but I don't want to turn it off (again, cause I hate grinding; and in a nuzlocke, if a team member dies, the next pokemon caught will be underleveled and needs to be caught up)...

Thoughts? Opinions?

If you've played the original R/S/E, do you (also) find OR/AS easier? Are you playing with the exp share on, or off?

the new exp share breaks the game, it makes it so easy, so turn it off if you want a proper challenge

I agree, it seemed extremely easy to me, but then I also used the EXP share. However, if I'm honest, I play those games mostly to relax, so I didn't really mind :)
And I think Emerald was definitely harder, I remember needing a few tries for that one gym leader... with AS, I can probably count the number of fainted pok?s in my party at one hand.

Yeah, it was extremely easy. The first battle I ever lost was my first time fighting Steven after the Elite Four. I ran around and leveled up my Pokemon a bit more, went back and whooped him the second time around. I've still really enjoyed it, though.

The exp share just ultimately broke the game.

I would turn it off for a much difficult experience.

I wouldn't be able to tell the difference because back when I played Emerald, I used Torchic at every battle to the point that it's overleveled... Beside that, I do find them easier to level up with Exp Share. I skipped XY so I didn't know about the difference until now.

I think it's good that we have the option to make grinding less time consuming, and it's more welcoming to newcomers. I hope there are challenges in post-game to make up for it...?

Yeah the originals were much harder, but perhaps someone who has played new games without Exp. share can comment? Playing without share is probably a better idea of how difficult the base game is and its a better and more fair comparison that way.

Norman used to give me so much trouble with the stupid slakings, and how that gym was given to you straight after the previous one...Was always underlevelled for it.

Exp share wasnt a big deal to me. It was tedious to fight the same pokemon over and over just to get it to level when I turned it off. But yes, the game was way too easy.

I did play without the exp share but still, it was too easy for me.

I think it was supppperrr easy.
But then again, in my personal opinion, I have found every Pokemon game since Pearl/Diamond to be really easy.

I cannot tell if the games themselves have changed, or if I as a Pokemon trainer has gotten better since when I was like little and would just use Mudkip on every single opponent. xD

Idk idk idk.

The only hard part was Steven because I didn't expect him to be so much smarter than everyone else in the game. (But I still won because I got a crit. Otherwise that would have been my first and only blackout in that game.)

I instantly turned off the exp share and haven't turned it on since. I chose mudkip but he didn't last long in my party. I'm up to the elite 4 and my pokes are pretty much the same level as the ones I'm battling and I'm finding it quite tough, can't get past the 2nd one atm, that dusknoir ugh.

Anyone who is complaining about it being to easy, whilst essentially being on easy mode with exp share on... wut. I haven't had to really grind at all, I haven't dodged any trainers except when I have like one poke left nearly dying, and the only times I run in circles in long grass is to catch ones I want. I have had to use the tactic of putting a noob poke first than swapping him out, but by now they can pretty much all handle themselves.

and no im not just rlly bad go away

It was wayyy too easy. Just turn off exp share if you want the game to be a little bit harder.

It's hard to really tell because I had so much more patience as a child (spending hours leveling up my Pokemon in tall grass). I remember beating Pokemon Ruby with only a Swampert, a Breloom, and a Camerupt.

Through playing Pokemon Omega Ruby, I've barely had to level grind. Which is good, I hate level grinding. I think the only time I needed to was when a new Pokemon joined my team (Seedot, Whismur, Aron, Milotic). The DexNav made it easier to raise my Seedot since I found one that knew Foul Play. No more Bide!

I've been using the Exp. Share and I enjoy it and glad they added it early on in the game. It's especially helpful when raising Pokemon that gain Exp. slower than others, like Aron/Lairon/Aggron and Latios.

So I can't tell how difficult it is compared to the originals, but I don't mind the difficulty level.

i turned off exp share after the first couple gyms, it got pretty challenging if you didn't equally train your pokemon. it made it way better. if you want it to be harder you should just turn off exp share. primal groudon is really op though so after that the game was a breeze

I started playing Pokemon with Emerald so I know exactly what you are talking about and yes, it's way easier now. Back in Emerald I remember having to have at all my Pokemon least at the Elite Four members Pokemon level if not higher to even have a chance. In ORAS, my team was nearly 10 levels below the Champion Steven and I still easily beat him without the use of any mega evolutions.

The whole grinding issue is completely gone by the way. I played Pokemon X/Y and ORAS with the Exp Share off and I never had to grind as long as I simply battled all the trainers on every route and gym.

If you find the 6th gen games too easy, like I did I suggest A) you refrain from using any Mega Evolutions (great for battling your buddies and for online, but in game they are too OP in my opinion). B) Turn off that Exp Share! C) Do not grind it's not needed! Even if you are a bit under leveled (which is rare anyways) you should still be fine cause I was. (Potions are your friend). D) also don't use Legendaries again, too OP for the main game.

This is just a suggestion you play how you want but if you'd like to play a slightly more difficult game than give my suggestions a shot! It's actually quite fun! :)

Primal Groudon was a ***** because of Rest, but I managed to catch it in a regular Poke Ball within a few minutes of trying.
