Opening a plot

Hello all. I'm looking to open a plot so I can receive a villager. I have amiibo cards, but as far as I know when I kick them out the amiibo will move in. How do people cycle out their neighbors to get dreamies? I see so many people who are hunting with open plots.

Is it just TT? Because I don't do that.

Time travel is the easiest way. One of the common methods is jumping 15 days then going day by day until a villager you want to move out asks.

If you don't time travel, you are looking at a villager asking to move out every 7-15 real life days. It may not even be the one you want to leave, which will add another week to your process.

Amiibos will instantly put a villager in boxes that day, buy the plot the next, then move in the day after that.

Yeah, unfortunately the person who wants to move out is mostly random. There have been reports that ignoring a villager may increase the chance, but it is not 100%.

If TTing and a villager asks to move out and isn't the one you want, you can just close the game without saving, TT forward one day, and most likely someone else will ask.

There is some kind of internal trigger that goes off ever 7-14 days that causes a random villager to want to move out. This won't trigger on days that KK Slider or a special event like Bug Off is going on.
