What's the difference between your online and in-person personality or is it the same?

I'm actually a lot more shy online than I am in person. I'm someone who loves making people laugh, but it's hard to understand my kind of humour through typing, so I end up typing awkwardly or staying relatively quiet which sucks for me, because I'm wanting to make friends on here but I worry that everyone is just going to ignore me. Either way, I'm trying to come out of my shell on here still like I already have outside the computer!

How about all of you? Are you more shy or confident online? :)

IRL, I'm a sorta of a shy person, but if we share the same interests.
We go on and on and on.

Online is more or less the same thing, but more social than my real life self.

I am way more outgoing on here than irl... It's hard for me to be the guy who you want to hang around because one second I'm funny or cool and the next I'm weird. Kinda eh.

I'm more shy irl, but kinda confident online? Idk.
my humour online is that of irl as well.
but I voice my opinions more online than irl as nobody even cares or understands me when I do in reality.

To some?? people I might seem more 'smart' because of the way I type, but tbh I just can't talk all that well irl. tha saliva tho.

Well...on here I can do this:
But in real life, I stab myself with my glasses and cry.

People are confirmed to be much bolder on the internet than in real life. Most of the time shy, quiet people in real life might be the most outgoing on online communities. It might have to do with everyone sharing the same interests on different communities.

irl I'm way more boring and sorta shy? kinda not really but online I'm more fun and easy to talk to than if you approached me irl 0:

Good luck! I find that joining a discussion/replying to someone's post is an easier way to make friends here. If people ignored you, you simply have to try again. And be sure to talk to as many people as you can to familiriaze yourself to the people here :)

I'm slightly more confident online than real life, because you can't hear me stutter or fumble my words lol. But, I find it easier to talk offline because I can see their social cues and change the conversation based on that. Online, I have to read between the lines which doesn't always help.

Online I am somewhat outgoing, it's easier talking to someone through a computer than in real life (in my opinion). Although, in real life I'm very loud; I love talking. I also think I can be somewhat assuming. Online, I tend to be more reserved.

I'm basically the same way :p
I love making people laugh but I feel like none of my humor will translate through my posts. I feel awkward sometimes.

My personality online and offline is very different! if you knew me in real life and see how I am online, you wouldn't believe its actually me! I'm very shy irl, and super quiet.. like, even if we have the same interests, I wouldn't talk much, although that depends on the type of person hahah (not really comfortable talking with outgoing types of people irl) But online, I'm not shy at all and I actually talk a lot more.

Shy in both, but less so online. Shocker, right? I think most people are like that. But there are things I say better through words and emoticons, and other things I say better in person. Basically I'm more eloquent online (big wordz n stuff) and more expressive offline.

I'm much more shy in person than online >.< Other than that I'm the same person online as I am IRL

IRL is probs that im not as likely to start conversation with people i dont know where as on the internet i dont give a **** coz i aint got nothin to lose

other than that i think i pretty much remain the same

I'm pretty much the same, with the one big difference that I'm a LOT more timid and shy ;-; It's really hard for me to make new friends because of that, and probably my biggest weakness.

I'm more self assured online because I can think through what I'm talking about before my words are finalized. I don't like speaking in real life because I scramble my words and thoughts. In long speeches, my voice cracks too.

im sort of the same but i think im a bit more shy online. idk how to make friends here

I'm more or so the same way online or real life. I don't see the point trying to fake a personality just for online. Lol.
