You might have edited a post which can cost bells if you shorten it.

pretty sure you lose tiny amounts of bells when you edit/delete a post or something like that

click on currency -> bells -> transactions
and you can see exactly what went down

It doesn't cost you anything to edit a post.

It recalculates the amount of bells you received for that post; so upon editing, you remove all the bells you earned for that specific post. However if you save changes with the same amount of letters you supposedly retain the same amount of bells from before, although I have still lost bells from fixing typos with the same amount of letters so I am not really sure what happened there.

If you edit a post and shorten it, you will lose bells. u__u
