Ok, so I wanted to buy animal crossing city folk and a wii for christmas, because I have neither. Well, I've been hearing so many negative things about city folk. It's starting to scare me. And many things about wiis sucking. So, now it's your turn. Do you really think it's worth it? Like buying a wii just to play AC:CF? Or do you think I'll just be wasting a good $300? (omg please convince me it's worth it :( )

Where have you heard bad things about Animal Crossing? The only bad thing is that it's similar to the first two..which isnt that bad. It's the best of the 3, and the first two where awesome. Also what bad things have you heard about the wii? -_- People are feeding you lies, in my opinion.

well, from random different posts I've read. people saying that the wii isin't as good as it should've been, and the whole city thing being a whole let down. :(

Personally, I think it is worth it, yes.

I understand why people are disappointed in it, I suppose. It really is a new riff on the same Animal Crossing formula -- but, really, isn't this what it is supposed to be? There are some new touches, but the game isn't radically different from what it was before, and some people really were hoping that it would be. I would argue that there is just enough new stuff in the game to make this one fresh and interesting. However, if you were wanting a totally different look, feel or formula, this isn't going to knock your socks off. On the other hand, if you wanted a bigger, better experience than you got with Wild World, you won't be disappointed. If that helps at all.

Oh, and as far as Wiis being bad? Uh, I have no idea what that is about. The Wii is an incredible system.

Well, I thought the first one really rocked. Do you think this one has like the same kind of first animal crossing feal to it?

City is a bit of a letdown, but with a community like the bell tree, the online play makes up for everything wrong with City Folk (which isnt much, aside from it copying a lot from the other 2 games)

Its still worth it, and besides, you need a Wii at some point, otherwise you'll miss out on a lot of good stuff.

Yes, it does.

But it is a much smoother experience. The animation is better, and the AI seems to be a little less repetative in town. (The City part of the game only seems to update itself once a week, so this part gets a little repetative. . . ) As always, there is a ton of things to do and collect, so I can't really see how one can go wrong.

The wii one has the best of GC and the best of DS with a few new little things. I'd say its got that Animal crossing feel. It's defienatly better then Wild World. I will admit, the city was a let down, but the game is still awesome. And yeah the wii is a great system.

City Folk's good. I like it.

But the Wii being a letdown is just wroooong. Zelda: Twilight Princess.

'nuff said.

Animal Crossing is great. Please dont listen to all the negative things your hearing. Its the best of the 3, which is saying alot. And I dont know who in their right minds said the Wii is bad..its the best system out in my opinion, and I have a 360 as well. Trust me, theres more to do than ever in the new Animal Crossing and you wont regret it at all. More exceressories, clothing, furniture, this game is amazing.
=D

The game is defienatly not worth 300$ however the game is worth is 50, and the wii is worth 250. Even if you dont get ACCF, you should still have a wii, for awesome games like Brawl or Mariokart.

I know, I meant that if I do get the game, I still got to pay the $250 for the wii! Can't play it on my old gamecube, now can I? Don't answer that. *stares* lol

Nintendo fan= get wii

wii is all about family and stuff

Get 360 if u want blood and gore/ action etc.

Wii is more of an interactive family thing

Its not worth it JUST for Animal Crossing, but if you get brawl, and mabie 1 more, and you will play with lots of people, its well worth it. Hell, if you just play animal crossing + wii sports +1 more game, its worth it. Btw, if u want a second wiimote, get wiiplay, its $50 and it comes with a wii mote. Its like wii sports, but has different stuff. Also, a wiimote costs like $45, so its totaly worth it. But, in the long run, the wii kinda turned me down. Brawl was kinda of a dissapointment, and Twilight isnt as good as i thought. Mario cart isnt addicting, and is only good if u have a buncha friends coming over who like the wii, or u wifi with them.
For nintendo lovers, the wii is worth it

-EDIT- This is my 80th post =D. Oh, and by the way, Guitar Hero rox, so if u get a wii, get that too. If you get a virtual concel game, get the SNES remote that attatches to the Wiimote like a nunchuck

XBOX360 is for blood and gore, and some pretty fun FPS games.
Wii is for Nintendo fans and people who like replay value.
PS3 is for people who have money.

It's worth... it cmon...it's wii, it outsold psp, ps3, and xbox combined, i suggest you use that $300, because it's going to be spent well

Ummm....SCREW BLOOD AND GORE. You're talking to a chick that still plays with her gamecube. LOLI almost had a heart attack when I attempted to play grand theft auto! seriosuly man xbox, not for me. Forget the family thing, my family would rather heard sheeps than play video games. I'm all alone in that world, not to sure about brawl, (?), and you better be talking about Twilight Princess, not the book. lol I love nintendo!!! <3<3 and Natsume. Go harvest moon! :gyroiddance:

Yay for ignorant video game freaks.

The Wii is not just for families. Look at MadWorld, Conduit, and Manhunt (Rockstar's porting GTAIV to the Wii too). Those are filled with violence and gore. The 360 isn't just mindless violence, it has it's share of kid-ish games like Viva Pinata and the Lego ____ series.

Besides, if you even have seen the first few video games, they were designed for adults in mind.

Okay, back to the topic. If you're getting a system just for one game, you're going to waste a ton of money. The Wii is really pulling for a casual audience right now. If you're a person who likes random games where you sit and poke things, go ahead and get the Wii. If you want games that appeal to more modern and core gamers, look into a 360. If you're a hardcore gamer, upgrade your PC.
