OK...I'm Sure Something's Changed With Island Evaluations!

A while ago, I had a 5 star island which would drop to 4 stars as soon as I allowed a money tree to grow. Isabelle wasn't happy about it!

I decided to get rid of some shrubs as the way I had them planted didn't look good to me anymore - I reckon I took out 15 or so in total.

Since then, I've gradually been adding more trees as I've designed my island, expecting to see my rating drop to 4 stars again any day now.

Tonight, I've just planted a load of fully-grown shrubs that my friend dropped off for me - at least a dozen or so, and I'm still at 5 stars.

Have I missed something? Have they changed the way trees and shrubs affect island ratings? Or am I going crazy and I've removed some trees without realising it somewhere in the past month!?

Trees and shrubs count towards the same points for your nature score.

I'm not sure, but I've been sitting at 4 stars for months and i haven't gotten rid of or planted new trees/shrubs in a while, and this morning i woke up to find a lily of the valley and my town was now at 5 stars. So, i'm kinda wondering the same thing, like if they lowered the bar for 5 stars or something.

I know. What I'm wondering is if they've changed the influence trees and shrubs have on island ratings, though?

I was right on the borderline and am pretty sure I've now added more shrubs than I've taken away since then, but am still on 5 stars.

I'm not sure, I literally hadn't talked to Isabelle since the start june so i can't remember what her last eval was before the one confirming the island was 5 stars. I mostly remember her complaining about adding more decorations, but even those i haven't changed recently.
