Perhaps you might have something wrong with your NL data.

This works for DIGITAL but I have yet to find out if it works for physical as well:

1.) Go to E-shop and find New Leaf
2.) Click on More Details
3.) Scroll ALLLLL the way down to Repair Software
4.) Click Repair Software and let it do it's thing, it will tell you if you have something wrong with you NL data. It will take a while but if you are missing something it can repair it.

Honestly have no idea if it works with Physical copy but you might try anyway.

I'm sorry this happened to you. :C Glad you're taking it well, though, I have no idea what I would do if my data were to corrupt. I hope this doesn't happen to you anymore!
