Well, someone can have different interpretations of ghosts and spirits, it doesn't always have to be based on religon. I believe they are energy beings.
I don't believe in god, or hell, or heaven. I believe that when you die, you die, and ghosts are just mindless energy beings that are the energy you leave behind, if you were a negative person, the spirit will be, if you were a positive person, the spirit won't bother anybody. That's why most "hauntings" of spirits doing bad things are the result of a traumitizing experience such as getting murdered or being depressed.

As for the thread, it may well have been something that moved it.
I'm not doubting ghosts or anything of the sorts, it'd be silly for me, seen as I've had an encounter before. (It's a bit of a long story)
