Official Animal Crossing: New Leaf meet up? Any more news on it?

Today morning I went to Scarborough Town Centre ( Toronto) to check the actual location for the meet up. The staff at information desk couldn't find any info in their event binder. When the information desk phoned their event planning/ management, no one seems to know anything about this meet up?!

I was told that if there is any news about it, they will give me a call...
Does anyone else know anything about this meet up????

All I know is from what Nintendo said on their site. Maybe send off an email to Nintendo and ask about it?
