How exactly to you get a shiny legendary pokemon, like for example, a shiny suicune in pokemon gold/silver?????

First - Save right before you fight the legendary.
Second - Battle
Third - If it isn't shiny reset then try again.

Getting it the legit way is, iirc, harder than getting a non-legendary shiny.
