NPC Side-Stories?

Has anyone else talked with Lyle and found one of the options to be "Anything new?" or similar to that? I've chosen that option every time it appears and it's usually a humorous anecdote about Tom Nook or Timmy and Tommy! Does anyone know if it develops into more of a story?

Also, I know in City Folk there was a story between the Able Sisters--does anything like this exist in New Leaf?

I love finding these little "easter eggs"--it adds depth and color to the otherwise repetitive dialogue of the NPCs

You get more info about the sisters from talking to mable (the one on the sewing machine) everyday, but she only has like 10 convos with you before you get her special sewing machine then she only asks if you want to use it.

I've yet to find any detailed side stories in New Leaf. They might exist, but I've never seen them. I really loved how the NPCs opened up to you in previous games and spoke of their personal issues. I liked how they had depth to their characters Hopefully there will be more in the next game.

Ah, yes! I knew about this one! I wish that the conversations continued after you get the sewing machine!

I really like that aspect too! I'd definitely like to see that in the coming games!

Erm, Digby is Isabelle's brother and she used to get into lots of trouble when she was a pup. That's pretty much everything about them two, though.

I hope that we can get side stories (or even side quests!) from the NPCs in the next animal crossing! It would be really fun, and I'd love to get to know them better~

I hate the fact that you only see him at the start of the game and that's that for him.

Talk to them in the Roost, they give some details about themselves in it- for that matter, so do the villagers!
