Not sure what to do!

I have a big problem!! Sorry if something similar gets brought up often.
I did the 16-villager cycle so that I could move Lolly back into my town, she was in my boyfriends town. I finally got her to move from there, and just now I went to pick her up. She agreed to move back into my town!
So, I saved and went back home, then turned the 3ds internal clock ahead 2 days so I could plot reset, but I've checked three times now with a new villager and I haven't been able to find a plot anywhere!!

I've been cycling for so long, I really don't want to mess this up. Has this happened to anyone else? ):
Any help is appreciated.

Sometimes villagers take longer to plot than others. I think that as long as you for sure got her to come to your town, you're fine.

Oh my god, I had NO IDEA it could take more than 2 days! I set the clock ahead by a day and tried again, and there she was.
