Instead of resetting, whenever I become content w my island I start to get the urge to tear everything down and start again. Maybe I just want something to do? Maybe its the cabin fever? But it ALWAYS happens

I currently dont have enough IGB to demolish all inclines/bridges and move all the buildings/houses but I KNOW as soon as I do.....its back to the island designer LOL

Anyone else deal with this? Have you ever completely flattened ur island after "completing" it?

I've never done it before but I'm so tempted...I want to try terraforming lots of mountains and rivers to make it look natural but heavily terraformed but I never have enough bells or the patience to dig up all my trees and flowers when if my shovel breaks every 5 minutes lol

yes! i’ve done this once, and while i was worried about regretting it at first, it felt so liberating to have so much space for the new theme i wanted to mold my island into c: it was really worth it; i really recommend anyone who hates their current look but feels unsure about bulldozing their island to take the first step o:

Honestly, it takes a lot of time and dedication to start from scratch all over again in regards to designing. While there were times I felt tempted, I just remembered the excruciating hours I spent terraforming. That alone is already so time consuming.

I think my issue is the fact that, it's so easy to daydream about the wonderful possibilities of what I could do with my island, but then I remember the reality of how long it takes, and how expensive it is. I cannot for the life of me keep doing the same clicking and tapping for hours, so I'll stick to what I have.

Kudos to those who have the time and dedication though 🙏

Why has nintendo cursed us w breakable tools......it definitely makes the process more tedious :/ and WHY cant trees/flowers/bushes stack......constantly having to empty ur pockets is annoying

I definitely feel that it is super time consuming and I dread the thought of doing it again.....why couldnt it be easier ; - ;

I also get urges like this and my island isn't even finished! I really want to make big dramatic changes but I'm really worried I'll regret them.

Maybe start with redesigning a small section of your island. That might give you the confidence (or you'll learn you dont want to) to tear down and rebuild other parts of your island.

I think thats definitely a good way to do it : O atleast I think itd kill the monotony of flattening everything at once!

Oh I always have this urge but my anxiety keeps it at bay haha. I've seen some people make town designs (maybe it's some website idk) before they start terraforming, and I thought that was a great idea! Honestly, I wish I would have known before I put so much work into terraforming my town, but oh well! I'm not going back now

I haven't razed my own island and restarted, but I did help a friend of mine trash all of his trees and flowers cus he HATED how his island looked. He's since made a ton of progress!

Oh I think I know that website? I tried it out a bit but I have a hard time visualizing what itll look like in game......I just have a small brain LOL

I think knowing how much time and effort has gone into my town at this point makes it a little difficult to start :0

Oh yeah, I understand. I don't know what I would do even if I could start over.. Good luck with your island!

YEP!

My main bother is there's no river that runs straight through anymore. And if I try to build one that means I'll have to shift a bunch of other stuff including buildings and/or ramps. In order to move those things, I'll have to move other things, it's like that stupid game where you have to slide the puzzle pieces around and around to get them to go where you want them to.

Omg that is a good description for it

Really wish we could have more than one island on one console.
I like how my island is but I do wonder often just what I could make if I tore an island asunder and then re-made it entirely with terraforming.
Too many ideas, not enough islands.

I sort of did this once in NL because I was sick of how my town was looking. Even tho it was "ok," I wasn't completely satisfied with it so one day I got completely fed up and just tore everything down and chopped down all trees, got rid of flowers, etc. This made it easier for me to design! After I got it 100% how I wanted, I kept it that way, and only redid areas if I thought they could be improved.

In NH I kind of planned out my island a bit via terraforming, and when I was done I started to work on decorating one area/section at a time. There were some areas I redid like 5 times because I was never satisfied with how it looked. But like I said before, once I am 100% happy I keep it how it is. But during the construction process sometimes I again found that if I bulldozed a section to the ground it was easier for me to come up with a cool idea instead of working around existing trees, rivers, etc.

But also when I create areas I try to keep in mind that this game still has future updates planned, and I'm open to the possibility of me redoing areas in the future if new furniture/buildings come out later on!

I’m not even finished and I’m already redesigning. I don’t like for my Island to be flat with areas sectioned off into squares like a mobile game. I just hate terraforming though. I spent hours last night on one waterfall to make it look right because I’m also a perfectionist. The way I’m redoing things might make it difficult to squeeze new things in if we get anything new added to the game, but would be worth it if they gave us more than 8 inclines. At this rate I’m not sure I’ll ever be done.
