I was planning on selling my 2DS and Playstation 3 to buy the New 3DS XL Animal Crossing Bundle. I heard that the design is confirmed to be available in America, I was just wondering if someone can link me if possible?

Also, does anyone have any speculation of how much this bundle will cost in USD? I'm hoping it won't be too expensive, because I'm also thinking about just keeping my 2DS and just buying the game with the NFC scanner.

Thoughts?

- That rumor is not confirmed at all. NEVER believe those rumors and act as if they're true; just look at TheBitBlock saying "reliable sources have confirmed AC: amiibo Festival will be free" even though it won't.

- All New Nintendo 3DS XL bundles/limited editions in North America have costed $229.99, so most likely that price.

Thanks for that very informative response! To be quite frank, if they don't release that bundle here then I probably will not buy the New 3DS XL at ALL because I would probably save much more money by just buying this bundle instead.

Yeah, it really sucks that NoA can't confirm anything sooner, not to mention the inevitable stock issues it'll most likely have, when looking at the release of the Majora's Mask edition. I know a lot of people really want to get a bundle and not a plain, boring color.

You would think they would be quicker to announce a bundle, since we already have a release date for the game. I guess it works in their advantage because if people knew they had to wait to preorder a bundle, their game sales would plummet since the game is included with the bundle. I've had my 2DS for about two years now and if they don't release the bundle here, yeah I'll be sad, but I'm definitely not going to import it from a different country since the bundles in England are equivalent to over 300 USD. I'll probably buy this thing and slap it on my 2DS and call it new lol.

NOA are doing my head in. They seem to announce stuff so much closer to the release date than other places, which as you point out, doesn't help at all with our purchase decisions. You'd think that, with the amiibo cards at least, they'd provide info such that retailers could open up to preorders to get a sense of the demand for stock. US Wal-mart is listing cards for preorder, but no one else as yet. I was in an EB Games today and they still only have the game itself listed in their system. Of course a lot of folks will walk in off the street and buy the products, but I'd appreciate the comfort of being able to order the cards, if nothing else.

Each card is a bit under $2, if you base it off the English prices in pounds which relaxes me a bit. I do think not releasing dates for everything is frankly ridiculous but it's all business, even though it may hurt them in the near future. This game is already quite complex with the amount of new things that're being released by Nintendo like the new console design and cards and NFC scanner and what not. There's only about a month until release and I'm frantically thinking about if I'll have enough money to buy it, and I don't even know how much to expect to save because I won't know for SURE until everything is up for preorder and has some dates attributed to it. It sucks, really.

I don't know who's in charge of this mess but someone needs to make better decisions. We get the game a week before Europe and yet they know they're getting it. I'm just gonna say it's probably the corporate jerks in charge of the Nintendo in our country. I really am beginning to think they're not going to release it at all here but who knows I guess. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed.

If they don't release it here I'm going to be importing one from Japan. I'm thinking I might do it anyway so I can play other Japanese games (earlier releases too ;) )

I'm in the UK, so yes have available the bundle of 'game+ 3dsXL with HHD design +digital version of the game preloaded' - and I wouldn't dream of ordering it - why: its very expensive plus if anything goes wrong with the console you could lose your progress in the game (admittedly not that much of a deal with this game). In the past I've read quite a few posts about the acnl 3dsXL bundle that players said they would never order such a bundle again.
If you have a 3ds/2ds already I think the bundle of the game plus reader is very good value (the reader is almost free). The US is getting a good deal on the cards- 6 in a pack and a reasonable price?
I don't think the game/console is worth ordering from outside you own region unless you are learning Japanese.
Edit: having things up for pre-order 'early' hasn't helped me that much - the amiibo cards are turning into a bit of a joke, ?6.26 for 3 cards on Amazon and ?3.49 with the Nintendo UK store and other sites inbetween. and you run around not knowing what to do for the best (as in the past some sites in the UK have cancelled pre-orders) so you end up pre-ordering from several sites. & hoping to cancel some at the last minute.
And theres no info on whether a box of cards may suddenly pop up for sale.

Supposedly, a "Reliable" source has said there will be a US release of the Limited Edition XL...http://alwaysnintendo.com/north-america-getting-an-animal-crossing-happy-home-designer-special-edition-new-3ds-xl/

I'm not too sure, but I really want it to be true :<.

As much as I wanted to believe it was true, look at TheBitBlock saying "reliable sources have confirmed Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival was free". We all know how that went; it's not true.

If we do see the N3DS bundle, it'll probably be around the ballpark of previous bundles.
The N3DS XL bundle for Monster Hunter 4 was $229.99 at GameStop.

Unless you really want the N3DS, I'd say just buy the game and NFC reader bundle. It's $50 at GameStop and they also have pre-orders out. And if anything, you can always just cancel your pre-order and get a refund.

I just ordered a modded, new, boring, patternless 3DSXL so I can stream my gameplay, so at least I'll have a new, amiibo-compatible system to play on, but as my personal, take-out-of-the-houseable new 3DSXL, I'm still really really really hoping for the bundle.

A woman tweeted at NOA last night asking them for news re: HHD preorders. I grinned and clicked the "favourite" button.
