Nook Won't Upgrade Nook's Cranny...

As of today, I have bought and sold a combined total of over 80,000 Bells. According to everything I've read, the only thing you need to do is buy and/or sell a total of 25,000 Bells worth of items. Yet Nook will not close his shop to expand.

Does anyone know what's going on? In old towns I used to have this was never an issue.

hmmm... how long has it been since the town started? Its also possible your town glitched and just needs a simple reset. I've never encountered a problem like that myself but resetting a town usually fixes all problems.

By resetting a town do you mean starting over? Cause on day one I got a rare shirt I'd been looking for.

I started this town on November 23 so today marks one week since I started the town. I didn't play on Thanksgiving though. Had a busy day. If the 8 Day thing is in this version of Animal Crossing then it'll be tomorrow or Tuesday if it's not glitched. And I hope it's not glitched :/

It took me a while to upgrade from Nook's Cranny too. Nearly half a year, actually. Then again, I never really went there that often.
