Non-TTer Missed Redd

I'm asking a question on behalf of a friend of mine, I've seen that there's been issues and glitches involving Redd mostly with TTing. A friend of mine who doesn't TT missed the day Redd was announced as a "suspicious character" visiting her island because she was busy and had to put the game down before finding him. Will she not be able to see Redd again until she can get a real piece of art from another player? Or will Redd eventually make his way back? I already plan on helping her out with getting a real piece of art to try and fix things, but I'm also curious myself if this is an issue for non-TTers too where you shouldn't miss Redd at all or else you're simply left without the upgrade and him until you get outside help :O

apologies if this is already addressed somewhere, I've been absent from the site a little lately from my fixation on this game calming down xD

I don't know if this helps, but when I got the announcement I was TTing to move a villager out, so following my rules I didn't talk to him and just focused on getting the villager out. Then when I naturally moved to that day again, Redd wasn't there. I got worried and started to TT until in 1st May he finally appeared roaming around my island. Perhaps he will appear later on?

ah i see! I guess it's up to luck then, thank you for the info!
also I believe the night of the update, you could talk to blathers to set-up Redd to appear the next day so that he and Lief would be there on the same day :O I think I saw a few people on here do that. however if your friend didnt do that then uh,,,yeah thats an interesting

Oh yeah some friends and I did the talking to blathers thing, and those who weren't TTing got Redd the next day. But one in particular had Redd roaming around without talking to blathers, the day of the release basically, and we were all pretty confused about it .w.`

WOOOW okay its sad that Redd is as glitchy as he is but that's pretty funny, I guess that particular Redd felt left out. I hope your friend didn't come across any worse issues due to it!

As far as I know he actually got Redd AGAIN the next day, so he only got to get scammed earlier than us hahahahaha
