No spotpass?

I keep trying to get the villagers sent out by spotpass, but for some reason I can't. I leave my DS in sleep mode, but when I get a spotpass, it only tells me I have a system update. I have spotpass turned on for HHD too.

Have you gone upstairs to the desk with the 3ds on it with WiFi on? If it works, Lottie tells you,"You have a customer downstairs." I don't even know that the blue or green light comes on.

It doesn't show up in notifications or get a blue light on the game. But so far they were there when I went upstairs. Have you just tried opening up the blue DS while connected to your home wifi? (I'm not sure you have to be, but I always am so you might.)
