I was looking at my local Walmart and Target, and they didn't have Amiibo cards. It's strange, the cards are only 2 years old, it's not that old.

Yes, Nintendo discontinued the amiibo cards already :( You can only buy them from via Amazon or Ebay.

I would assume they will come back with the next title, the Switch still has Amiibo functionality, after all.

Too bad that we can't fill our collections in the meantime :(

I don't think this statement is completely true, however, it may depend on where you live.

I live in Southern California and I can still buy packs of Amiibo cards, Series 1-4, from Toys 'R' Us. Granted, it's only available online but $5.99 per pack beats Amazon's price of $12-15 per pack. Toys 'R' Us only allows you to buy 5 packs per series in one transaction, so just make multiple transactions if you want more than 5 packs of a particular series. I've done this twice now and I've gotten quite far with my collection.

I have also gotten lucky with eBay deals. Like 70 cards for $35. If you don't have a particular series, you can get a lot of cards in one go for a good price. It's mostly no duplicates so really worth the purchase. You get a good chunk of cards for the series, then depending on your budget and preference, you can either buy packs or individual cards to complete your series.

Anyway, good luck!

I went to a Toys R Us the other day and they had a lone pack of Series 1 amiibo. Not sure if I was just unlucky and went on a day they were out of stock or if I was lucky and got the last one ever sold there.

You can also buy them off of the official Nintendo store I believe.

my country doesn't even sell them here at all LOL
so I'm out of luck but yeah you can buy them from Amazon or eBay

Part of me hopes they do away with them.

Paying absurd prices for a single card.

All they care about is money.
Not the player, or the kids, or the parents forking over dollars they can barely afford.

You mean the Ebay people? They sell like a $1.36 for a card

I still don't have a lot of my favorite villagers like: Genji (need the most!), Claude (same as Genji's), Hazel, Ricky, Filbert, etc..

Marshal's card is so expensive! I seen one worth like $90 US dollars! Luckily, I have it already.

Sanrio cards is another story... they're like $300 dollars! I really hope no one has bought those cards..not at those ridiculous prices! Waste of money for 6 cards! Go buy a Nintendo Switch!
Still upset that Nintendo didn't even bother to sell them in the US.

The Ebay sellers too.

Also, the Ebay people charge over $100 for a single card.

I'm really upset because I went to Nintendo NYC a few days ago and they had a pack of them and I passed them up for a KK Slider shirt. I really regret it now. I saw Goldie on the top of the cards too.

Hey yall just fyi I found out that the Nintendo Online Store is selling Series 1-4.

Unfortunately looks like the Welcome Amiibo cards aren't sold there. :(
This is only for US and Canadian orders only.

This is also on the UK Nintendo Store too. :o

Since there aren't any WA cards there either I guess you will need to pay the price a seller is selling them for the legit cards. :(

You can buy fanmade versions of them on Etsy.

As for the Sanrio gang, someone is selling them on Etsy (fanmade I cri) for $3.50 each, while buying everyone at once is $20.

Again if you want the real deal for the Sanrio Cards you will need to fork over alot of $ for them it seems.

I got my fanmade Sanrio set from Etsy for $40.

I've seen the legitimate set on Ebay for over $200.

Do away with them, or make them cheap, and easy to come by. :-/

Fortunately I snagged some of my most valuable ones off of eBay before the update hit, so I got Marshal, Ankha, and Merengue for $2 each or less. However, it was harder to obtain the rest that I needed because the prices skyrocketed. I bought Diana for $5 but gave up on Fauna because I couldn't find her for less than $20. I ended up asking for her card for Christmas, which I got. The WA villagers were even harder, because everyone seemed to have Ketchup and June out of stock. I eventually paid $15 each for them, which was way more than I wanted to spend. The rest of my villagers came to me in random packs, thank goodness. I got my Sanrio cards in January 2017, which I ordered after not receiving them for Christmas to my disappointment. The whole set of 6 was $34, which seemed expensive at the time but seeing individual cards going for $50 now I realize it wasn't so bad. It's quite disgusting to see how much people will charge for something they know others want. Amiibo cards are generally something children go after, and most times a child doesn't have a lot of cash lying around. That leaves either begging their parents or just not getting them at all.

It's truly a shame!! And the scalpers are such jerks for lack of colorful words I can't type here!!

I have a decent size collection, but I'm still missing a bunch! I was ordering them from Toys-R-Us' website and in store for a while, but I assume I don't have much time left for that :(

Some of the packs on Amazon are still a decent price. Can anyone tell me why they discontinued them? I never read an actual statement or reason behind the discontinuation.

If the scalpers weren't so ridiculous I wouldn't have a problem paying 3rd party sellers, but I refuse to pay anymore than 1 or 2 bucks a card. I see Marshal selling for upwards to 50 or 60 bucks??!?!?!?! That's a shame.

I am too ashamed to post what I spent collecting all of series 5. :(

The sellers charge these exorbitant prices because they know the cards aren't being made, and that someone out there WILL pay their price.
