I've been watering my black and purple roses for about 2 months now but all I ever get are red roses.

I heard it's from 2 hybrid reds(reds from purple+orange)?

Also, IIRC it's CF's way to get blue roses.

Yeah, you don't get blues through purples & blacks anymore..

You must breed purples and oranges to get red roses, these are known as "second generation" red roses, and these breed together to make pretty much every type of rose, including blue.. But they're still incredibly rare

Some people say they've gotten them from other flowers, not just the "hybrid" reds. I don't think anyone knows for SURE, since they are so dang rare. I've been feritlizing and watering for over a month and still don't have any. I've got an area with black, pink, purple and hybrid red roses and nada. :p

Thonky has a guide that has worked for me. Although it isn't 100% it is pretty acurate. I have lots of blue roses. I'd be happy to give you 2 so you can breed them. PM me if you'd like 2!

I have a field of what looks like 500 red hybrid roses and still not a single blue rose has been bred.
I'm getting bored of trying to breed one! :(

How are the stats for purple pansies, is the game guide also wrong about breeding 2 orange ones?

i almost want to buy some off someone ... but i want to do so myself. so ... temptation isnt winning this time!

I feel your pain! I've been trying the red roses with hybrid parents with no luck! Considering blue is my fave colour it's super annoying! Maybe in the Spring I'll give the blues another try!

Sadly yes. You need to breed two red hybrids from a red and a blue pansy. And while they are no where near as hard as the blue roses, I would consider them the second hardest to breed.

If you want to breed hybrids consistently, read this guide from forum member Valerie. Since my post count is so low I can't post the link so search for "How to grow hybrids the Easy Peasy Way: Stop watering so many flowers!!! " on this forum or google.

It completely changed my "luck" with hybrids.

Also as TifanyNL mentioned, use Thonky's page to determine what flowers are need for each hybrid. Again, my post count is low so I can't link but google it and you will find it.

I have a dedicated time traveling gardener. I started my attempt to get blue roses on July 1. I used three dedicated red hybrid rose pairs. I got my first blue rose on November 4th and my second on November 12th. So it took over four months. But the reason I got two so close was I saw on someone?s post about using fertilizer with a golden shovel really increases the chances. So I tried that starting on November 1st on all three pairs. So coincidence or fertilizer and golden shovel, I?m not sure but I really think the later made the difference. With the purple pansies, it took two months with two pairs of the above mentioned to get both the purple pansies needed for more breeding. I didn?t use fertilizer on those so it may be much faster with it.

I hope this helps and keep trying, you will get them. :)

Well no wonder I didn't get any yet, red and blue are separated....

My offer stands to anyone if you would like a blue rose or two. PM me.

I bought some to get myself started. They are the only hybrids I did this with and kind of I wish I would have tried on my own, but I love my blue roses.

What I did for purple pansies was to breed a hybrid red from blue and red and then bred that one with a purple pansy I got from a friend. I at least felt like I did some of the work on that one. :) Once I got two purple pansies, I was able to breed them over and over.

Fertilizer helps and only watering a few flowers a day is another great tip. Only water the ones you want to breed and only water a pair.

I can give you two blue roses to breed in exchange for a mini rhythmoid?

Red and Blue pansies, being the standard red or the orange one that comes from Red and Yellow?

Breed a blue pansy from two whites. Then I used a Lief red pansy and bred it with the blue to give me a hybrid red. You can then breed purple pansies from two hybrid reds. To help me keep track, I would type in the messenger and then snap a photo of my character standing next to the hybrids with what they were.

You need red hybrids by

Red + Red
Black + Red

Anything else that makes it show up. Then for blue:

Hybrid Red + Hybrid Red
Hybrid Red + Black
Hybrid Red + Orange

That's all I know, purple and black do nothing anymore.

I just bought 2 blue roses & fertilizer and bred them from there. It made life a lot easier.

Money doesn't bring happiness. Waking up and finding a blue rose in your down does.

LOL Yes, that would definitely bring happiness, J087. I hate to say it, but I got a purple pansy on accident. I didn't even notice which flowers it came from. Wish I could get a blue rose by accident. Maybe I need to stop trying, then I'll get one? lol I'm determined to grow them on my own, though, so I refuse to buy any! *stomps foot*

so weird. i had a field of blue roses. then i didn't play for several weeks. when i logged in, only 1 was left, and it was a dead grey rose. then i watered it and it became blue rose again.

it seems the game doesn't wanna kill off every flower you have. it leaves you one. that single blue rose i have will not die.. it will just go grey again and stay there waiting to be watered, but it won't disappear like all the other ones did.
