I was looking to buy a Stonehenge and I remember that it used to be 30 NMT at most, but now I can't find it for less than 50 NMT. And I don't know if it's just usual nookazon greed or the prices are going up?

Anyone else noticed the inflation? I know here the TBT is being used way more than last month but idk if it's an indicative.

edit: i know about the duping glitch, but it's just now I am noticing the inflation

I think it’s actually because NMT dropped in value. If they were going for 200k a piece, then 30 NMT would be 6m. Now they’re about 50k each from what I’ve observed in the conversion thread. So, 50 NMT at 50k is only 2.5m

TBT can't be duped and now there is a lot of nm t in circulation

NMTs are all over the place right now and it's hard to get a set price on anything really. It's crazy out there man

Duping is a thing, as some people have stated. Additionally, the advent of the campsite method reduces the demand for NMT, driving their worth way down. NMT prices might start to rebound once the duping glitch is patched, but more likely than not the NMT : IGB/TBT rate will decay over time.

yeah it's hard to sell, bc some people are not rly engaged in the community and dont see the inflation. I said tried to sell a statue for like 15 nmt and they answered like "what no wtf so expensive who has the time to gather all that" but it's being sold for 80 nmt on nookazon

I don't think that the inflation of NMTs (or drop in NMT's value) can be attributed to the duping of NMT alone, though that probably is a cause.

If duping is as widespread as some people claim, I'd actually expect the price of items to go down, not up - at least with more sought-after or rare items, as increased supply outweighs demand. Why dupe NMTs one by one when you can dupe a katana or a lucky cat that could each sell for hundreds?

Keep in mind that people are also able to accumulate NMTs naturally. Some people like to save or may not spend their NMT on much, meaning that they will have more to spend.

When you're browsing sales or trades, it's also important to remember that the cheapest and best deals are likely to go first, with less desirable deals typically staying up for longer (unless people are impatient and don't want to wait for a lower price or just don't care). Conversely, sellers who see similar items at a price point go quickly and who still need NMT for their own trading/dreamie purposes may decide to up their prices to match the rest of the market or do it because they can.

It's important to remember that just because you see an item for like, 100 NMT doesn't mean it's actually worth that much or that anyone will ever spend that much for it.

There also might be some lack of awareness from some newer players in regards to just HOW rare some items are.

That said, I accumulate my Miles naturally and don't TT and I'm also not knee-deep in turnips.

I don't and won't ever have 100 NMTs just sitting around.

If the value of NMT goes down, you need more NMT to buy something. You can get one rare item from Gulliver visit, and you need to do a quest for that, so even farming through TT wastes a lot of time. There's not enough of these items on the market.
Also I think you can dupe a stack of NMT.
Also, people are aware of the duping of rare items like katanas and lucky cats, I normally see them being sold for 5 NMT at best because high prices don't sell.
I've been following stonehenge prices on nookazon and discord very closely bc I really want one and I think any low prices are just kindness at this point. Offers for 50NMT don't linger for long.

People are actually duping items again?? What's the point of trading anymore lol
