Nintendo Zone issues? (Canada)

Today I went to my local Best Buy to get the Apple Pie DLC, while it said the network was working, when I went to the post office Pelly said the connection wasn't good enough. I tried multiple times in various parts of the store, and unfortunately the idiot manager didn't even think Canada HAD Nintendo Zone. (even though a booth inside the store was advertising the New Leaf DLC)
I read somewhere else that people have had this problem, and I'm not sure what to do. I can't change my router information to do the cheat, so I seem to be SOL.

Anybody else had this problem, or know of a solution?

Some had issues at some of the Best Buys because those stores didn't have their Nintendo Zone set up.
It's not Best Buy only this time, so if you can find a different place that has a Nintendo Zone, try there.

You can search for locations here: http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/nintendozone?popup=ac2

I'm going to try a McDonald's or something later, but I just had a lengthy conversation with a Best Buy manager and they said it's really only for the states.

Have any other Canadians been able to access DLC? I am REALLY hoping this isn't true. Why call it "North American Content" if half of the the continent can't access it?!

No, we can definitely get it here.

Personally i've had troubles with best buy too, so I haven't managed to get any DLC as that's the only nintendo zone near me :(

Yeaahhhh, it's somehow seeming like McDonald's is the way to go... so electronics stores like EB Games, and Best Buy don't have this stuff figured out... BUT MCDONALD'S DOES?
I also read a post on GameFAQs where some guy in Edmonton said the only access point was at a dentist's office. WHY?

I'm in the states but my best buy is totally useless. You can stand right by the giant nintendo zone display board and there is no zone. pretty sure they just don't turn it on or something, it's a terrible store. I was so glad to see that there are other options -- in our area we can go to starbucks, mcdonald's or at&t stores. although since I don't actually go to any of those places I may just do the bestbuy router trick this week!

Nocturnal, some of the people @ Bestbuy's Tech Dept. are clueless in regards to their partnership w/ Nintendo. My sig has instructions for a workaround- all you need is some basic knowledge of accessing your router or if you own a smart phone, then the solution's even simpler. Should it be a confusing read, send me a PM & I'll walk you through it! ^o^

I'm in Canada, I'll try the McDonald's tomorrow. I've had problems with some Best Buy locations before also.

Thank you everyone! I managed to hit up McDonald's and get the item! :)
Still in disbelief that Best Buy has no clue how to figure it out, and yet McDonald's on a cruddy street works perfectly.

The Best Buy I went to for the first DLC had an awful internet connection and nobody could even connect to their Nintendo Zone, but the employees there knew they had it and what the issue was, lol. I went to my local McDonald's today and it said "Can't connect to Nintendo Zone" even though the website lists it as one. I just ended up continuing the SSID trick to get my pie. Maybe Toronto will have better luck since they seem to be the only part of Canada worth anything to the outside world.

I can get the DLCs right from my house o.o

That may be because I have a Japanese router, though, and my 3DS info is North America because I want to be able to use the connection option "Only North America" or else I get swarmed by Japanese people at Club Tortimer.
