I subscribed to Nintendo Power for 5 years, I think... middle of 2002 into the beginning of 2008 about. But I think my parents would buy me an issue here and there back in the '90s, because I have a couple random issues from like '97-'99... and then one issue from '01 that I bought. Did anyone else used to subscribe or buy NP back in the day? Does anyone else subscribe now, or buy the issues?

I remember NP used to be so cool... and then it started to change a lot, and I lost interest in it. When I first started subscribing, or got it as a kid, I could read through it for a couple hours. By the time my final subscription came due and they wanted me to renew, I wouldn't even be excited when I got a new issue in the mail... I'd set it to the side, read it through a few days later, and maybe spend about 20 minutes with it. I remember how much I used to enjoy getting the new issues in the mail... come home from school, knowing it was nearing that time of month, and checking the mailbox.

It sucks now because Nintendo power is a gaming magazine, and Nintendo has ceased to make games.

Yeah, I had the power. I canceled my subscription after seeing the latest magazine. Talk about dumb. I miss the classic NP.

The last couple years it just became more and more of an advertisement for stupid games being released on Wii and DS... and I was sick of paying to read ads... I wanted the good stuff I couldn't find on the internet like in the old NP.

Now it's separate from Nintendo, but Nintendo still endorses them.

I only have a few issues.
The newer ones.

I remember the first issue had Mario and Wart on it ...

The old NP had good old classic hints/cheats/game maps that seriously helped out. And not to mention, the old fan mail article was enjoyable to read as well.

Thats why i subscribed to Game Informer, and the fact that it covers other systems games.

I was subscribed to EGM, ,y favorite one, but then they went out of business and sent me Maxim.

A perfect magazine for a 12 year old/sarcasm

I got Gamepro for free for a year... but not a big fan of it... it was a joke. And my friend got EGM and he'd let me read it sometimes, it was alright... but NP in its prime was so much better.

Its called Nintendo Official Magazine in the UK, I never subscribed to it but I would normally buy the odd issue here and there.

never had the old one, but i like it when it features interesting games, or has info on upcoming games that i want. it also helps me with wiiware and stuff if i am not sure about a game i will check there and see what they said about it.
