Hello!

I've been around these threads for awhile and I've been playing the game for an even longer time, but I haven't been able to figure a few things out.

I've read several threads on PWPs, how to get them, which villagers they come from, ect. but for some reason, NONE of my villagers seem to give me any PWPs. The last one I got was about a week ago and it was from one of my regular villagers, but I have not heard from them since building it.

I'm really trying to get the police station, but at this point, any of them would be acceptable. I've tried the diving trick, I haven't tried the trick where I dig around my villagers because I have a few paths down in my town and it's a hassle switching between accounts to put them down, and I've also tried to build other projects that I have in the bank in hopes that it'd trigger new ones. Is there any other way I can get them to ping me about PWPs?

Thanks for any help!

I was wondering this myself, and as far as I know, the diving trick is the only way to increase your chances.

This post on reddit explains it in a really great way, which made the difference for me, as I wasn't doing it optimally! I hope it helps you as well.

tbh when i do the diving trick, i don't even dive! i just hang out on my beach for a while, and then head back to town- as long as your villagers don't see you for five-ish minutes, it works!

and be sure to fill your pockets with things villagers won't buy! like flowers or tools! i tend to use the bells i have on hand to fill up my slots bc i don't have to pick up and put back down flowers, and once i've gotten my pwp ping, i can just drag all my money back to where it came from! ezpz!

I use the diving trick and while it can take a few hours, I've had it work for me consistently! I always fill my pockets with tools, flowers, and seashells (like people said, stuff that villagers can't buy), and put ALL of my bells away - either through deposit at the post office or by attaching them in my letter slots. Then I just go and swim out, wait five minutes, and run around until I get pinged. It can take a bit sometimes, but I've had it work for me every time.

I use the diving trick (I just jump off the dock and wait) but I also make sure that I am either currently building something or destroying something. I get more PWP requests if I'm "actively" working on PWPs!

I started doing the diving trick, and it helped out a LOT. It's gets a bit annoying especially when your villagers just troll you asking about UFO's and changing their greeting, and stuff. It's worth a try.

I use the diving trick, and somehow luck out almost every time. I've only had to do the diving trick once per day, and the first ping has been pwps for the past three days xD

It seems like the diving trick works because you're somewhere that the villagers can't see you - so if you have somewhere else in town that you can lay low for 5 minutes and you're SURE that no one will see you, that works too (it has to be on the same screen though - sitting in your house, on main street, or in the RV park doesn't count towards the 5 minutes). As people have said, make sure to fill up your pockets with things villagers don't want to buy, like flowers or seashells. This helps as it means they won't ask to buy anything from you and can't give you anything. It's a good idea to also make sure your letter area is full as well, so they can't ask you to bury a time capsule. You can drop all your money as well if you want, but I've found that doesn't matter if you don't have any space to buy anything.

I've noticed while using the diving trick myself that a villager almost never will ping you twice in a row. As well, villagers sitting on stuff are unable to ping you. Sometimes it feels as though the person sitting was the one "meant" to be pinging you and you get nothing - if you see two (even just one person sometimes depending on how paranoid you are) sitting outside, it might be a good idea to reload the area. As well, once you've had the game open for an hour, villagers WON'T ping you, waiting until you talk to them to say that you should take a break. If you've walked around and seen everyone but haven't gotten a ping, this will likely be the culprit. You can either fix this by closing and opening the DS before swimming in the ocean each time, or (when they don't ping you) talk to one to get the message that you should break and then the person who next sees you SHOULD ping you. Another thing is that I've heard (though I can't confirm) that after you've gotten one pwp suggestion for the day, the odds of getting a second go way down, so it's best to only try to get one pwp per day.

Surrounding villagers using holes only really matters if you're trying to get pings from a specific personality - you can increase your odds of getting the right pwp if only people with the right personality have the chance to ping you. It also can make it a little faster to find everyone in town, but again, not actually helping you GET pings.

If you've already gotten a pwp ping before that's good. Some people don't realize that even if all the criteria is met, you don't get suggestions until you've made atleast one pwp in your town already. You'll probably just have to keep grinding it out. All the diving trick does (when done correctly) is guarantee a ping. Using the different tricks with your inventory you can increase your chances of it being for a pwp, but there's always a chance that you can do it for hours and just have your villagers ask what your favourite type of flower is over and over again.

Good luck!
