New user: Missing Halloween with 1.5.1

Hi all!

We just bought ACHC a few days ago. We have updated the software and it's now 1.5.1. I cannot find the previous update 1.5.0.

The Halloween features don't display at all. I have tried going back in town to 1 Oct or 2 Oct but doesn't work.

What is it that I'm doing wrong? Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

What do you mean exactly by Halloween features? ^^ Halloween itself is just Oct 31, but just to make sure nothing is wrong with your game, have you checked Nook's for candy and pumpkin plants?

The latest version of the software contains all previous data. The issue may be the fact you have just purchased the game, and have not progressed enough in the game to access some of the content.

If you’re time traveling make sure you’re in the correct year. A friend accidentally went to October 2021 and couldn’t find candy or pumpkins in her shop anymore.

Pardon for my ignorance... But is everyone like wearing Halloween costumes or the whole island is dark and gloomy like Halloween? Is that only on 31 Oct?

I will go check on the candies and pumpkins at Nook's later.

I'm just a mum trying to figure out all this for my 10year old.

It sounds like you should have everything but haven’t played the game long enough. The first ~ two weeks are basically tutorial, learning game mechanics, and building your island a bit. My guess is until Resident Services’ building is built you won’t be seeing pumpkins, but I could be wrong.

Also no need to time travel unless your son is super anxious to start getting pumpkins and spooky furniture. If you do travel you need to stay in 2020 to have Halloween stuff.

Considering that you are still within the first week of the game, it doesn't really give you everything... YET. Don't time travel and let time pass naturally and let the island build itself. Don't rush. The Halloween event itself won't be until October 31st, 5PM to midnight. There's still 2 weeks, and I think that's plenty of time to get ready.

No worries! Understanding a new game can definitely be hard. Just wanted to make sure nothing glitched in your game or something!
Yes, the gloomy weather and animals wearing costumes are only on the 31st from 5pm onwards. The most halloween-y stuff for the rest of October is planting pumpkin seeds from Nook's, getting spooky DIYs from villagers, and buying Halloween costume in Able's. You just need to progress a bit further in the story to get Able's and Nook's, so don't worry about missing features in the game if you're just starting. ^^ As others said, just take your time with the storyline and you'll eventually get to unlock more stuff.

Thank you for the info..we manage to get some pumpkin seeds and a candy. Our island is too new and we don't have Able's yet. Hahha we need to work harder now.
