New to the game will take tips!

Hi, I recently started playing the game a couple days ago when I got it as a gift. I have am currently already working on my 3rd loan. Is there anything I should know or be working towards? Super noob here

Try to reach the 100 approval/mayoral points so you can set the type of town you want (town ordinances) and be able to build public works projects.

Doing tasks for villagers, setting a town tune and flag will get you points towards this.

If you're in need of bells, only grind for them when you absolutely want to.
You'll get bored/burned out fairly soon forcing yourself to.

yea I have been doing a lot but since this is only day 2 I've donated most of it to my museum as I gather everything

If you post on the bulletin board, send letters to villagers, talk to villagers, water flowers and change your flag/tune these will all help you. On my other town I actually got told my progress was 99% out of 100% earlier lol... I ran so fast to talk to an animal.

If you have a fishing pole you can sometimes fish out trash from the water too which helps. And selling your stuff at Re-Tail (this is what Isabelle said, I don’t know if it’s actually super helpful)

Thanks so much! yea I'm wanting to start gather more new fruit and I still need a slingshot. I was hopping to visit someone town so I could find the rest of the fruit and maybe a slingshot. The 2ds isn't mine tho so I don't want to go to add crazy with friends. My towns got pears and I'm currently growing peaches

That would be awesome! completely off the subject but is there a way to set up multiple users on a 2ds?
Me and my bf both made Miis but he is set as the main account cause he uses it for mario kart and super smash bros

I honestly have no idea but I hope someone can answer that for you. My bf doesn’t play any of my stuff so I could never find out lol

I think my friend code is on my profile but if you need it I can post it here. And just let me know what yours is. I’ll go ahead and grab my fruit and slingshot for ya, although, the perfect peaches I have are on my other (brand spankin new!) town so if you want those I’ll have to get them in a different session, hehe. I gotcha, the Switch spoiled me with the multiple users lol. I don’t know/think a DS can do that (never tried), but if you become an Animal Crossing fanatic then you’ll want your own anyway... I have a shelf of the cute amiibos in our bedroom hahaha it’s so terrible!

Everyone's given you great tips already. I'll just add that when you get your perfect fruit, grow it in a safe place where new villagers can't plop a house down on it. Same for hybrid flowers you want to protect. You can move your flowers to the beach or directly next to buildings/houses to keep them safe. There needs to be at least 1 space between a building and any trees/bushes that you plant.

Once you unlock the island, you can catch valuable fish/bugs there at night to help you make money quicker.
