New resident living in resident services 🤔

hey! I have spotted a character in my maps app, who looks similar to my amiibo, and it says she lives in resident services.
She's never been seen on the island, and I'm unable to report her to isabelle as her name doesn't appear on her list of residents.
I haven't time travelled, just getting familiar with the game and no idea to get rid of her

Could you provide screenshots? Is there an empty plot marked as sold?

Do you mean a player character? If you don’t place down the tent plot then they live in resident services and that’s where they spawn when you log in.

You can delete a second character by logging in on your main profile and pressing - instead of A at the title screen (before Isabelle gives her announcements).

Thanks for your reply Yes it's a main character. I have no vacant plots, my island is full. I didn't quite understand what you meant, sorry. What is it I press before isabelle starts speaking? X

I didn't quite understand what you meant, sorry. What is it I press before isabelle starts speaking? X

It turns out I was wrong: you have to launch the game on your second switch profile (the one that’s used for the non-Island Representative character). At the title screen where it shows one of your villagers walking around, you press minus (-) instead of A. Tom Nook will show up and one of the options is “save data,” then choose to delete resident registration. Hopefully that’s clearer for you.
