What are your thoughts on the new designs for the new Pokemon? Many complained that the last generation was very lacking in creativity.

I am a fan of the starters and Xerneas so far, I'm trying not to spoil myself too,too much

Goomy

Nuff said.
...

I'm just kidding. X3
I really love the new Pokemon that I've seen. (I'm trying not to look at spoilers either, we only have less than 2 days now. Xc)

But my top favorite of the bunch has to be Hawlucha. :D
Mexican Luchador ftw!

creativity?
creativity has been lacking since Gen 1. People just are like 'no they are so original' because of the nostalgic feeling towards them.

I mean lets look at grimer, voltorb, electrobe, eggsecute (or however you spell it), Staryu, and about 10,000 others
grimer is literally a purple blog
voltorb is literally a pokeball with a face
electrode is just a pokeball flipped upside down and enlarged
eggsecute is literally EGGS
and staryu is a starfish...

and here we still have people complaining about garbage bags and ice cream cones...

Onto what I think of the designs, I don't really care. Gameplay is more important to me. But I do like most of these designs

I never understood the Garbador hate.
It's cute.
It's decent.
It doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets.
It's actually a pretty creative idea.

oh my god i know right? i seriously get annoyed when people dis the newer generations like crazy and praise the first gen designs. when really, the first gens wasn't so great in creativity itself at some designs.

I'm only meh about a couple of the Gen VI Pokemon, and I'm sure if I used those on a team, I'd come to appreciate them more. I don't think I will ever be able to appreciate Mega Garchomp though lol

No matter how the designs look, there will always be someone who says "they are running out of ideas" or "these don't look like Pokemon" or something to a similar effect. They can't please everyone.

Gens I and II will always have a special place in my heart because I played those when I was a kid (and able to just enjoy stuff without over-complicating things). But compared to the newer installments in the series, their age shows badly. I honestly don't know if I could play through them now (referring to RBY and GSC, not FRLG and HGSS).

I don't mind any of them so far in terms of creativity except that key Pokemon, Klefki.

Not trying to start any arguments with those who like Klefki, but no. Just... No. It just doesn't make sense. It looks like the creator just looked at a key ring one day and said "...Hey, we should make a key Pokemon!"

Wait are there 10k new pokemon already? I should keep updated haha

I really like the new Pokemon. Klefki was weird to me at first. Now it's sitting on my team as the biggest help when it comes to capturing Pokemon, AND it saved my butt against some really tough late-game trainers.

I won't hate on them, but I don't care at all for the past 2 generation of Pok?mon. IN MY OPINION(Note that I'm not stating my opinion as fact), it seems like whoever designs the actual Pok?mon is really scraping the barrel. Though lately I feel that way about most Pok?mon.

I think I've just had it with Pok?mon. lol

Emerald would not be the same if there were garbage bags and ice creams.

I thought Generation 3 is where design creativity began an upward climb, with generation three, five and six being my favorites regarding Pokemon design. Designs are certainly getting more obscure, but I've never thought that implied creativity was lacking. If anything it's a small part of what has re-invigorated my interest in finishing the games.

I love all pokemon designs. They are creative in my opinion and great. People just have preferences. Some prefer pokemon just being animals, and some like both animals and inanimate objects. Personally the inaminate object pokemon are some of my favorites.

Generation 5 and 6 were my favorites creative-wise so far, even though I started with generation 4.

Hawlucha. Something about it seems... wrong. Look at it and tell me what seems wrong to you.

I didnt like the past few generations because of the bulby art style, it was going a bit too toony for my tastes. Yes some of the first gen were toony, but for the most part the first gen was leaning towards something semi realistic and relatable... not floating ice cream cones...

There were some goodies in the past generations but in a whole it was all over heading in a bad direction. This new generation, so far I've seen more good than bad, the art style seems to be going more towards a digimon style in monster design, which is good. I just wish they'd look at some of the fan art, some of it is REALLY good and their imaginations for evolutions and fan-pokes are awesome.
